Emirates commute

I've read that many American pilots at Emirates keep a house in the USA. Is it possible ever to get back to the US or will an Emirates pilots spend most of their time on the road or in Dubai on days off?

Also, does that mean that most pilots for Emirates must move their familes to Dubai?

If you want to see your family, they'll have to be here. Average days off a month running at between 10 and 11, but only in large blocks every fifth month. Coupled with the 14 hour flight to JFK, you'll hardly see the kids of they stay in the US.

I tried commuting for a year and it DID NOT work. And that was to Europe!!!

on top of 90 hr blocks then do JFK return even 1 a month , to see your family ,will take its toll.the commute will use up 3 to 4 days and you do not have the JS option.

On days off you spend all your time on the road...stuck in traffic.
