Emirates... license requirements

A friend of mine who wants to send an application to EK has asked me, so just a curiosity:
EK requires an ICAO ATP... how have pilots with FAA licenses filled this requirement?
Thanks

Last time I checked The USA was part of ICAO...

ICAO Member States

EK require an ATPL (or ATP). They have pilots representing pretty much the world now. In addition when you arrive here you take a GCAA (UAE) Air Law exam. The only problem you will have is maintaining the currency of a JAA or your home country licence if there is an expiry date on it.

No surprise that your friend doesn't realize that his country is a member state of the International Civil Aviation Organization, (a part of a very suspect world-socialistic-sounding group called "the United Nations") since it doesn't fall under a more appealing name such as "Coalition of the Free and the Brave."

And how can you keep your Jaa licence valid?
Thanks

By hiring the sim privately and paying a JAR examiner

Hi, next time your sim is due get the EK TRE authorised by the UKCAA which will allow him to conduct the test. Think this authority will be valid for one month but might only be valid for the one renewal. Rgds.

To answer the original title.....Not alot anymore. Although I hear a couple of thousand P51 hrs on a 737-200, an atpl from an obviously corrupt authority, and no job offer from anywhere else is a good start. Much easier option when the JAA route is too much work after the caa have turned down a feeble attempt to get an exemption on such an obviously contrived set of qualifications.

PS helps if your mate answers the reference request as well.

No sour grapes i might add just an observation from that world where all the shortcuts are known to all. National carrier as well.

KEEP DECREASING
