Overseas Bases with EK or EY.
 

I know the subject has been raised previously, but with all the negativity about living in the UAE, and Pilot recruitment becoming an increasing problem. Attracting the high calibre quality Pilots ......blah blah....what about O/S bases ?..Costs will be higher.. yep..but they can afford it.:ok:

There will be no pilot basings in the foreseeable future. As for 'When the penny drops', it's their train set mate, they can do what they want and at teh moment they would prefer to keep a close eye on you, with no external organisation being available to you in your home country i.e. A union. Also the UAE economy relies a lot on revolving funds, i.e. the pay you, then you spend the money in their own back yard. Don't forget that nearly all companies here are owned by only about 7 families, all of whom have senior places either at Government or advisory level.

Truth, unpleasant, but the truth...

The truth is, whilst they can fill the seats they'll be no O/S bases.
what happens when...they canx flights due crew shortages.
CX...have had crews based W/W for years....
I know its their train set and all that, but with the undercurrent
of disenchantment running thru many EK threads..
