Emirates 747?

What is this 747 with Emirates painting (the airline, not the country) that I have seen in Hong-Kong and Frankfurt?

One of the EK Sky Cargo Freighters, probably.

All Emirates SkyCargo Boeing 747s ( I believe a total of four or five ) are operated by Atlas Air. It's a company based here in the US. BTW, they also wholly-own Polar Air Cargo.

Both do ACMI charters.

Was the Polar B747 that went off the runway in DUS operating for EK?

Mutt.

Yes. It was technically an Atlas Air flight, but yes, an EK SkyCargo 747.

Atlas/Polar do ACMI services to other airlines. EK is a customer.

A - Aircraft
C - Crew
M - Maintenance
I - Insurance

Everything else, EK covers.
