EY: Its time for a review

To my knowledge in PPRUNE's history no airline has felt the necessity to secure blanket censorship on the network. This was done in 2012 under different leadership in much different conditions. PPRUNE is usually a healthy place to air issues and exchange information amongst fellow professionals especially in these troubled times. I personally think its high time EY was looked at again with a view to re admitting comment. The ban was in a different time under different management at a time when their resources were seemingly unlimited. Maybe its time to review the status.

Couldn't agree more.

Even a that time , there were a bunch of clowns, that after paying 100 000$ on legal fees , just withdraw from the case like morons.:p

I doubt they have the balls or the money for a fight with anyone now.

Karma is a great equaliser.
Be it EK, EY or QR.
Just wait for the EXPO 2020 fallout. Its going to be epic:ok:

Only PPRUNE knows the extent of the threat from EY Legal or whether a pecuniary advantage was offered for the silencing of comment. However if at all practical a review should be made and common sense restored or a brief explanation of the agreement to a permanent gagging; the absence of which shows the network we enjoy and support in a poor light which is not my aim. The aim being to restore free speech and not bend to bullies.

That aside, may I say I'm very sorry to hear of the redundancies at EK . Seemingly clumsily and callously handled. But this comes as no surprise to us as veterans of white-out publicity and hastily arranged 'meetings 100km to the South. Stay strong and for the survivors stay professional as you're doing it for yourselves, not them.

Is EY following EK, any plans for staff reduction?

ozbiggles 9th Jun 2020 22:56

Planer, it’s snide little comments like yours that gets people into legal trouble all the time. If you are accusing prune of taking bribes to keep silent on issues maybe this isn’t the site for you.

Ozbig
There is no accusation from me or anyone else. Its merely a suggestion for a review. Obviously something happened and I'm not inviting comment on that matter, merely proposing internal review.

Hamil
I have no idea. But the recent "google meetings" distilled down to a single email for the latest batch of hundreds of cabin crew illustrates they have no qualms and in this area are highly efficient.

Eh,Planeur..
You didn't expect to get away without some flak, old boy.
There are always those who miss the overall point, just to unload some vitriol!

planeur 10th Jun 2020 07:05

Ahoy there Yaw String,

Nice to see you. Completely agree.

Anyway you have to kiss a few frogs before you meet a Prince, sorry wrong metaphor. I mean every dog has his day;sorry, wrong again, anyway feel free to insert one that pleases you. Any complaints, direct them directly to Yaw String or Tin Ribs. EY thing has now been given a poke and hopefully something will come of it. I'll leave it at that as I'm as busy as a Baghdad bricklayer this week.
