Resumption of pax flights
It's in the local press; EK will resume a limited number of passenger flights early this month.

And where are they expecting to fly to that is not full of the virus? And do they have no concerns about putting crew in danger?.. on wait on..,

Resuming flights
Most probably they’re following the QR philosophy and deploy some 777 to bring pax back, all return flights from AU are overbooked by 200 per flight, I’ve never seen those numbers before.
|
There is more virus in Europe and UAE than when they stopped passenger flights there, why would they start up again now I wonder....
|
They are outgoing flights only for passengers - they are probably hoping to export the virus! Coming back they will probably be full of cargo. The latest word from WAM (UAE official news agency) is that it will be another 2 weeks at least before flights restart both ways.

As per Emirates website, initial flights to commence from Dubai to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich and Brussels

The only other EK flights I see at the moment are 777 freighters. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....7a5d60f291.jpg |
Well the pax will be put in isolation .. under guard for 14 days.. but at least it gets them home.
|
These are still cargo only (for now anyway) even if operated by passenger planes on normal flight numbers.

The UAE have one of the most extensive COVID testing programmes in the world.... far, far superior to the UK which has one of the lowest amongst developed nations. The UAE has carried out 50 % more tests than the UK but only has 1/7th the population ! All passengers departing Dubai will be tested instantly before boarding. And of course, strict controls are in place for arrivals at Dubai. Unlike UK airports. Even their lockdown is far more rigid than the UK's. https://www.emirates.com/media-centr...or-passengers/ |
