Air arabia cadet program

Hi everybody, air arabia is a LCC from emirates , it has it's cadet program that lasts 2 year followed by an A320 TR and 1500 hours line training (you are paid as a first officer )and after that they decide if they offer you a contract or not .

My question is if they dont hire me after the line training, is it easy to get an a320 first officer job with only A 320 TR + 1500 hours on type ( and unfrozen atpl) anywhere ??

I don't know about "easy", but you would be employable. However, a bigger hurdle might be residency rights- what is you nationality?

IMHO , with 1500 hrs on A320, you should be able to get a job. You may have to try in Asia amongst other regions.

Uberkoberking 29th Aug 2019 06:29

Yes you would be employable for a lot of airlines around the globe.

As as far as I understand, the first officers who left after 1500 hours went to various operators in the middle east
and Asia.
As the demand for a320 pilots is high and on the rise. You wouldn’t be sitting at home without a job for too long.

Cheers

I don't really know what Tunisian has to do with anything. Airlines either hire foreigners or they don't. I don't feel that Tunisia is in bad standing with any country world wide for you to be flagged while applying for the work visa.

Citizens from countries that have active embargos on them usually have issues. And even then...

If you have the option to get into a program at the end of which you have an ATPL, a 320 rating and 1500hrs on type, what are you waiting for? Is there a better offer that has come your way? Or do you feel doing your own way through flight school and ending up without a job with 250hrs and a FROZEN ATPL will be better for you in the job market?

i think you Guys misunderstood me , i'm proud of my country but i mean that the majority of airlines jobs for people with 1500 jet hours are in europe , canada, USA , australia and to work as pilot in these countries you need a citizenship or permanent residence and here when the problem of nationality starts .

No the majority of jobs for people with 1500 jet hours are in Middle East, India and Asia.

That's why the airlines in these regions are filled with pilots from Europe, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America and just about every other country in the world, some of which you probably haven't even heard of.

It seems you don't really have an understanding of nature of the aviation indusrty right now.

Hi All, despite all the worries under discussion in the thread, I was just about to have an assessment test with Alpha in November. But I suddenly heard some of the cadets were "washed-out" after 2 years of training? They keep claiming that the wash out process was unfair. Have any of you heard about this?

I've met many Air Arabia cadets. They were washed out of L3 Academy because of bad standing, bad grades and not caring enough for the most part. I know many more serious cadets that paid the full amount and are now First Officers for Air Arabia. It's a hard program, but if you stay focused and don't get into the usual distractions then you will do fine.

It's a massive investment but in the end, it's one of the only programs in the world that guarantees employment up to 1,500 hours for all citizens which is enough for most airlines, even if you don't get into Air Arabia.

Thank you for the answer. I am curious, In which phase do they attend L3 academy? What do they learn in L3?

Are you always this hostile to people that are assisting you or contributing to a discussion that you initiated?

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know that wasn't mentioned. I dont know how it is now since these multi-party deals never stick for long but Alpha used to do the theory in the UAE but the flight training was done with GAir in Portugal. First in Cascais and then in Ponte De Sour. GAir has since reformed multiple times and lastly it was bought by L3 Academy which operates the base in Ponte De Sour. The examinations were done with the Portugese CAA but I am not confident on the information anymore.

I'll ask around and get back to you.
