Weed and the ME
Do the ME airlines screen for weed as part of the medical process?
|
Yes I have a selection coming up and I fancy sparking up:ok:
|
As far as I'm aware they don't, you should be fine.
|
I recall the limit being the same as alchool... 12 hours max before duty... MS |
Can they not detect it in your hair or something 6 months later?
|
Why are you asking? |

Traces of illegal drugs in your system may entitle you for a free stay in one of the Dubai jails. There is a website, I believe, listing what is legal and illegal in the UAE, regarding drugs. |

The short answer is yes. They check for many things including your risk for abusing alcohol and a psychometric profile etc. If you fly airplanes and smoke weed then I'd suggest you consider an alternate line of work like working in a shop that sells surf boards or perhaps a job in aviation management. |
It's illegal in the UAE.
Early on during my stint there, I was shocked to see hemp chocolate being sold in the fancy sweet shop in Dubai Mall. It was quickly removed 😅 Hemp itself was listed last time I checked the no-no list. I smell a wind-up... (or should that be... never mind...) |
My My...how times have changed.............if this is serious. I actually laughed out loud.
I am officially getting old. |
Maybe more should try! probably be lot less whining on this forum 😂 |
Oh my !!What the F**** happened to pilots now days!!
If you are doing this kind of stuff you are better changing careers mate! |

Still can’t believe that you seriously asked this question... And YES it is part of the medical examination + random spot checks once you are on the line! |

Yep, and we now have a wonderful former XL pilot filling one of those spaces, a more unsuitable individual you could not find.
