QR salary revision delayed
All annual salaries revision are on hold waiting for “management approval”, I really wished QR just kept their part of the deal, I show up for work and they pay me as per contract....
|
Hmmm...since when is QR legally bound to revised your salary. In fact, QR can revise your salary up or down how it see fit. Or worst cancel your employment contract, provided they comply with termination terms of your contract. QR is under no obligation that is outside realm of what is in the contract you signed. However you or the company can exercise the termination clause in your contract....
Termination Either party shall have the right to terminate the employment, at any time, by giving the other party at least 90 days notice in writing or payment in lieu. Your right to terminate your employment with the company shall be subject to the provisions of your training bond (if any). If QR doesn't cut your salary, particulary in part of the massive financial loss, be humble and thankful...if can :-) Now, I'm definitely not a QR cheerleader for the company, but keep in mind if/when they decided to revised your salary up or down, what will you do if it doesn't meet your satisfaction... just food for thought! |
I guess you don't fly for QR, by contract salaries are increased annually by 3% (additionally by 8% after 5 years) counting from your final line check, this a contract signed between you and the company has nothing to do with company discretion. The company has not payed the increase since January and gives no explanation for what is going on. Some people wrote the RH department and got a vague reply saying that it's under revision and waiting management approval. As said before, I only wished QR just kept their part of the deal, I show up for work and they pay me as per contract....
Now for the part where I should be thankful for not getting a pay cut because of the massive losses I rather not to comment, because of this kind of mentality pilots are being treated like we are nowadays. |
Welcome to the Middle East

Maybe Pilot Amireh has something to say about that in his next Instagram video.

Venting your frustration in an online forum will not help your cause:=, however you can bring your grievances to Welfare Dept as they would happily forward your concerns to the concerned Dept. :} |
Sorry pal but I don’t get what you are trying to say, not planning to feed the troll here. The compensation package is in place, 3% salary increase must be granted every year at one’s due date and that’s not happening. All the best on your new life....

You'd get better results if you take your concerns to the proper people who could offer you relief...Eh.. Pal?!? |
You are mistaken, the yearly increment is NOT in your contract, only your initial basic salary. I suggest you read it again.
Aviator is correct, take your concerns to the proper people instead of venting on here. OW PS. you are also incorrect on the larger % increment and when it takes place (twice) and btw is only for Capts. |
Contracts in the Middle East are bluntly put, not worth the paper they are written on. Regardless of the colours on your tail fin, ones employers can arbitrarily make changes with us having at best, little recourse.
It’s one of the well documented ‘hazards’ of working in this part of the world! |
Since 2008, my contract has been followed to the letter and even improved unilaterally.

sophiabecker.........
As Laker and Emma have said. 1. Welcome to the Middle East. 2. Any Contract in the ME is not worth the paper it is written on. There is ONLY one thing to remember, and that is the Golden Rule. The man with the gold makes the rules. |
Out of interest has QR ever made what could be called a real profit since their inception ?

Received this today,
"Greetings from Flight Operations! Dear Colleague, Please be advised that in relevance to your basic salary increment, the HR letter is in progress and you will receive your retro salary increment effective February 2018 in your April 2018 salary. Thank you. Best regards" What surprises me the most is how many pilots here demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge of what the singed for saying that there is no contratual annual salary increments. Case closed. |

There is no salary increment in the contract. It's a "company policy", just like the flight hour pay, meal/hotel allowances, etc, they can change it any time whenever they like. No need for you to sign. |

Case closed. You clearly don't understand your contract! :ugh: As stated in what you have posted and I will highlight for you "the HR letter is in progress", means they are getting the necessary approval for the salary increment. It doesn't mean they are mandated. The company could very well give you only a 1% increment or nothing at all. If the salary increment was a contractual obligation (as you naively convince yourself), it would be stated in the contract you signed and there would be no requirement to get an approval! :ugh: By law the company must give it you, which is not! So...clearly you are the one who completely lacks the knowledge and understanding of what you signed. You really need to re-read your contract and if you don't know how, seek legal guidance to assist in your understanding. |
Maybe I am the pessimist here, but the video hug sent to the minions could be in lieu of a raise. We are so valuable and all.... 😉
|
Yup...careful what you sign. 'As per Company Policy' is meaningless and has no obligatory provision. Policy is in the 'eyes of the beholder' and the policy can change minute by minute to suit the requirements at that time.
|
Contracts here mean nothing, unless of course you are the employee then you will be held to the letter!
