Security issue offended some. Taken to government that has links with organisation funded by another gulf state to sort out. EK rights to operate the flight stopped.

I ve heard that possibly Turkey is looking for an option to forbid/ ban ek using their airspace due to recent political issues between both countries... That could hit ek very hard, even more than Qatar airways. Could that be happening?

IF another gulf state had to sort it out, wouldn't this affect EY as well.

Here's a report of a perceived security issue with Tunisian women, the customary claims of racism and sexism are made.
Tunisia suspends Emirates flights after ban targets women By Associated Press December 25 at 9:04 AM TUNIS, Tunisia — Tunisia has suspended all flights by Emirates to and from Tunis after the Dubai-based airline barred Tunisian women from boarding its flights last week. The Tunisian presidency said Monday the United Arab Emirates’ authorities explained that they made the decision following “serious security information” about alleged plans for attacks by Tunisian women, or women with Tunisian passports, from “tense hotbeds” in Syria and Iraq. UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash wrote on Twitter that the ban was temporary and due to security reasons. The barring of Tunisian women has caused anger among rights groups and political parties in Tunisia. A protest was scheduled outside the UAE’s embassy in Tunis later in the day. Tunisia summoned UAE’s ambassador on Friday following Emirates’ ban. No women no fly: Twitter tackles Tunisia-Emirates spat Social media users have blasted the UAE as sexist and racist after the Gulf state banned Tunisian women from entry. Emirates airline stopped accepting Tunisian women on Dubai-bound flights on December 22. In an act of sexism and stupidity, the Emirates bans all Tunisian WOMEN regardless of age from using UAE airports even in a transit with no given reasons whatsoever. It's not only an insult to Tunisian women, it is an insult to ALL women worldwide. |

So now Emirates has been banned from Tunisia, and it's not going to be solved in the near future given both opponents profile ...
A lot of Tunisians will now take advantage of the French, Belgian or Italian passports they do enjoy, even if so fat they had been saying " it was just for paperwork " |
