I am sure that the captains at Flydubai will be happy to see that their average monthly salary is as high as 19334 US$ :ok::ok::ok:

There are many targets to choose for Flydubai
Bashing, but to be fair the PDF quite clearly
refers to "total rewards package" not "salary".
If you have three kids in secondary school then it's about right,
depending on the exchange rates, and to be fair, if you lived in the UK,
Europe or the States and sent your kids to private
Schools you would be paying the fees out of
nett income.
However, if you want to moan about rostering, PBS,
Fatigue, HR departments (in fact all departments) that
don't answer the phone or emails....

So for you it is fair to give the average monthly " reward " for a pilot with three kids at school for the average pilot !!!

I doubt that the majority of the pilots in Flydubai are in that position and to be fair then it should be clearly stated that it is for this specific situation...

They also include the end of service benefits which is mandatory by the UAE law and by the way it is only based on the basic salary ( 25000 Dhs and not the wonderful 71000 Dhs monthly reward )

I wonder what benefits they have other than the housing and transportation allowance, that's worth over 4000$?

So for you, is it fair to claim that Sigma are saying that the average salary per month is 19300 dollars when in fact they have quite clearly stated that figure to be salary plus benefits and the PDF tells you the guaranteed salary.

Also I would suggest that most Captains at flydubai will know what their salary is
without referring to this PDF. If I want to know I just look at
my bank statement and I'm sure other people can do the same.

At the moment there are thousands of other jobs in the world, if you work
for flydubai and wish that you didn't then you have an easy choice, although
I know those are effectively the words of the ex chief pilot.

I would agree that Sigma Aviation, who I presume are a recruitment agency,
Have been a little misleading, but so have you in your post.

I also don't see anywhere in that information sheet where it says what the
end of service bonus is worked out on, so don't see how that is misleading.

I would suggest that this is of no interest to existing flydubai Captains, and that
any thinking of joining might be more interested in the seniority system,
how much night flying they will do for the first four or five years, the fact that they won't get any Christmas or summer leave, the number of 18-30 hour rest periods they will be rostered and the fact that no one in HR, crewing or rostering will ever do them a favour, and apart from crewing (who only do it because they have to) even pick up the phone.

You are right excrab , it is not my business.
It is just that I am not used to see any other Airlines transforming the benefits in an amount of money per month.

It's 55-56K on average per month, nett excl school allowance. They can not compete with China and are struggeling to retain people, let alone reqruite them. From mid 2019 they need 3 to 4 times the amount coming throught the door now. Brazil seems to have dried up so where are people coming going to come from? Second officers are leaving at 1500hrs to go to EK, QR, and back to Europe. So the reqruiters are pulling out all the stops...

They can compete with China, of course! They only need to improve the package or improve the conditions of the job. But wait, it's ME management.... Forget about the last one

Anyway, I heard about experienced FO's coming from sh*ish Airlines, to FZ and all the other carriers in the ME...

So if a Cpt. gets 55/56K per month, how much is an FO taking home on average?

How much money can be saved per month out of that ? For a single F/O, reasonable accommodation/car/expense, living like a normal guy not into anything flashy.
I am still pondering if I can save enough at FZ to make me leave my current airline.

You could easily save 20000 a month depending on how disciplined you are.

The equivalent of 20 bottles of nice wine in a beach hotel restaurant😉

Thanks for the feedback guys, but even 20k aed saving seems low to me.
According to the infos I have gathered, I should be able to save around 29k per month.

Here is how I get to that figure : Avg salary 41k AED -12k Expense

Expenses (monthly) :
- 8,000 aed for serviced apartment/studio/single bed apartment furnished with gym and other facilities included, utilities bills maybe included in some
- if utilities not included then additional 1200 aed for them
- 1,400 aed for food
- 250 aed mobile bill
- 150 aed for fuel, car will be bought with my own money
- 2,200 aed for extra

Does that sounds realistic guys, are there people actually saving that ? I am of course talking single F/O, not driving porsche/maserati, not buying rolex or expensive clothes every other month.

I was saving about 200k aed a year there, I could have been tighter with my money but most would agree I was the tightest they ever met,

Car your fuel figures are out, assuming you get a cheap car, and mine was about 15k aed, with a typical size 3 litre car, I was paying 150 every say 5/6 days, everywhere in dubai is a distance to travel. And they do a lot of shifts with FZ.

Salary I wouldn't say 41k per month, I'd say about 38k per month, I think my best month was 43k but following was 35-36k due holiday.

Phone and TV in the ME is way more expensive than you think, 250 is not enough for the most basic Internet, I was pay-as-you-go mobile and that was still 100 aed, tv/Internet which is a lot cheaper than just Internet (with Du anyway, go figure that out) was around 300 aed

If you drink and I don't then believe me it's frighteningly expensive

Food costs about right if you shop in lulu's.

Don't forget that we have now the 5% tax on a lot of things plus the fact that a lot of prices have increased more than the 5% due to the VAT , it seems that the smart retailers have taken the opportunity to also increase their benefits a little bit...

Not to mention the 5% rental tax you also pay with your utility bills. I think your budget is a little on the lite side, Dubai is very very expensive. Think London/New York prices.....
