I’ve just read the latest safety publication and have say with respect to the EK mentioned events I’m flabbergasted.
Based on what was published, there seems in both cases to be a distinct lack of suspicion and airmanship when it came to ATC instructions and intentions. Whatever happened to informing ATC of your requirements rather than what they want? Yet again it seems blind adherence and poor SA led two sets of crews up the garden path so to speak without either of them seemingly capable of aviating rather than operating. |

A quick look at the augmenting Captain's roster reveals a string of 'Absent' days for nearly the last month, which one normally doesn't see after such an event and irrespective of if they stay or leave the company.
Good luck to him if there is any truth to the rumour that he went to Europe to seek legal assistance. |

BA have certainly taken new F/Os straight onto the 380 but I can't comment for LH or AF.
