What do you guys do for health insurance stateside?

The deadline to renew is approaching and I started the process. To my shock, I was looking a premium increase of $500/month. Again, that's just the increase. I have one of the cheaper coverages which is for myself and family. Due to my income, I'm not eligible for assistance through the government marketplace. I called an insurance broker to purchase via the exchange, but it was no different.

I'd like to hear what you guys are doing considering the huge increase starting next year.

Just renewed here (UK based insurer) Now GBP 14K per year for a couple, in patients care only. About a 10% increase from last year.

Baymac. Has worked well for my family so far. Many direct billing options worldwide. Premiums are fairly reasonable. I dropped a single plan last year and switched to a Baymac family plan. The new family premium was less than $100 more than the single O-care plan I was paying back stateside.

Wife had a ER visit last summer (USA) with the new policy. Worked as expected. Only out of pocket was the deductible and the rest was covered in full (direct bill).

Yeah, I'm with Baymac Family Plan too. It pretty much does what it says on the packet. It works well as a stand alone policy and if you already have company health insurance, it works well as a top up insurance (as and when needed). Always paid. Takes about 3 weeks to get reimbursed (typically). Used it in the US, UK and here in DXB. We usually pay and claim when we need to use it. I should really find out how their whole direct billing deal works. I have the renewal coming up in the next 2 months and from what I've heard through the grapevine, premiums have gone up - considerably.

And yes, from what I paid last year, it was cheaper than anything available on the exchange (by far).
