EK loadfactor..
fleetwide of 64%. Can than really be accurate and if so whats going on?
|
The beginning of the end?
|
That's what happens when your ego is bigger than your ability to deliver...."The 787 is too small for our operation"....morons
|
And where does that 64 come from?
|
I was trying to get to FRA a week ago. FULL! I didn't risk it. Chock-o block full. But on a postive note. DXB is lovely in the winter.
|
I don't know where this is comming from but business class is often sold out on many destinations I fly... Much to my consternation
|
Not sure if the load factor is that important, what’s the yield ? As long as EK keeps going the possibilities for profiting from “ the system “ is upheld for certain individuals , a bit like a casino. .
|
EK is coming up as the cheapest option for me quite often on the ticket broker sites, which never used to happen. (Asia/Europe sectors). Would seem to indicate softer demand/loads. Seasonal perhaps?

As others have said I have found on my routes with you Guys and Girls that Business has been quite full over the last couple of months, and have had problems getting seat (5 sectors flown) especially on legs in or out of Man. Do not know what other cabins are like but crew said they were quite full when asked.

Load factor alone is not an indication of profitability.
The aircraft can be full of low yield pax and lose money. Or it can be half empty but with high yield fares and make money. |
And is it "load factor", or "seat factor"? There's a difference.

What is seat factor? thanks
|
fatbus,
Maybe I'm being pedantic - when I worked on that side of the business, "Seat Factor" = Passenger Load Factor. "Load Factor" = a composite measure taking into account all revenue generating "things" carried - pax/freight/mail etc (usually tonne based). I'll concede that Load factor and Passenger Load Factor seem to be often used inter-changeably! Cheers, 7B |
That's kind of what gathered , but thanks for that.
|
One of the LHR's the other day was almost empty, why send the fat bus?

Coz you guys on the Boeing had it for years😜 In the traditionally slow period now, same May/June. Hopefully it will ramp up before Xmas. |
Every 380 was full out pf LHR a few days back, and for days after Puff. Maybe one way traffic, holidays. Not many upgrades either for pax available.
SyB  |
My experience as regular SLF is that loads have become weaker this last year.
Yes, travel at start / end of a week, school / college holiday period and the flights are maxed out. But, last weeks example (flown midweek to midweek) 22 out of MAN, J less than half full (yes it's the weakest of the 3 MAN flights) 538 to AMD - predictably totally full 515 Ex DEL - combined J&F load on the bus max 25 out of possible 50 19 back to MAN - J about 65% full and the rearmost upstairs economy section blocked out empty. The irony being that the only one of these flights operating full was that being flown on EK's smallest aircraft, a 200LR.................. |
Loads to anywhere in Australia have been oversold for the past month or so...
Fuel-Off :ok: |
For the hard of understanding: A scheduled operation has peaks and troughs - as Schnowzer has pointed out!
This is why, if you don't have children of school age, it's a good time now to take leave as there's less stress with the standby travel! |
