EASA approved TRI/TRE A380

Good Afternoon,

To your knowledge: is there any EASA-approved TRI/TRE on the 380, who can conduct a skills test here in Dubai? Ideally German CAA approved.
Any other information concerning the topic are also more than welcome.

Thanks for sharing and a good weekend to you all.

Great. Looks like I will be the one left turning the lights off.

I can see everybody preparing for Hifly....

GoreTex 23rd Oct 2017 23:14

one would be insane to leave EK and join Hifly, they lost many pilots the last year, I am talking about Hifly

fatbus 24th Oct 2017 00:32

Insane ? no . Just can't stand EK anymore and Hifly is an out . Even if it does not last .

gardenshed 24th Oct 2017 04:32

Can I have the TRE details as well please.

GoreTex 24th Oct 2017 08:13

fatty, you will never leave, lol

fatbus 24th Oct 2017 09:09

You might be surprised!

thatsme 24th Oct 2017 16:22

Goretex

Yep I guess after expenses on your 20 days ON ( Hi Fly does not pay any allowance) and after European taxes and social security my guess is you and up with max 5000 euro Net as an airbus wide body Captain

That would be an nearly 70% pay cut from my EK package. But its also a 70% cut In my workload! (my understanding is that they fly around 300 hours a year.

So not that insane....... There are plenty of people here at EK who have made there money and who do not really have to fly for a living anymore. A nice post retirement job maybe?

If you still have to fly for a living then its a different story. I would look further east. Korean A380 anyone??

Out of interest, does EK rent out their simulators to private customers? Or the unmentionable airline from the south?

If you are looking for a German approved ATO, try Cockpit4U. They can book the A380 sim at Lufthansa with a Lufthansa examiner in Frankfurt. EASA approved, so any EASA licence can be endorsed with an A380 rating by them. Only a 2h LST is required.

Thanks for the input Bus Driver!

Am aware of Cockpit4U. But flying 100 hours and lining up my 3 days off with the LH TRE in FRA can be challenging ;-) Would be great if it can be done here in the UAE.

Am guessing its down south, although EK used to rent out there 330 sim....
