Who has the best terms and conditions these days?
Who has the best contracts in the ME these days? I don't want to end up flying 120 hours a month so I guess I'm looking for the overall best balance of pay, time off, lifestyle.

If you want to make money create a Ponzi scheme, advertise it as a Ponzi scheme, and warn people off joining your Ponzi scheme. You'll make millions in the ME! |
If you're looking for this combination, stay away of the ME!
|
ME dream is over! All carriers forcing their crews to fly up to the legal limits, cost of living sky rocketing and life style destroyed by management pressure and rostering. Stay away if you can.

You would be better off getting yourself a "month on/month off" contract in china.

Dear B737NG and B737EFIS Captains,
XiamenAir has increased its pay to $352,310 USD per year! Below are some details about Xiamen Air: XiamenAir (formerly Xiamen Airlines) was the first airline operated as a modern enterprise in China. Established on July 25, 1984 and based in Xiamen, Fujian Province it operates scheduled passenger flights out of Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and, to a lesser extent, Fuzhou Changle International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. The airline is owned by China Southern Airlines (55%), Xiamen Construction and Development Group (34%), and Fujian Investment & Development Group (11%). XiamenAir was honored with the title of "The Best Airline in Mainland China" for six consecutive quarters in the "Airlines Service Survey" made by CARNOC.com. XiamenAir currently has 157 aircraft comprised of 143 B737NG, 4 B757 and 10 B787 aircraft. The company has 45 B737 and 2 B787 aircraft on order. The city of Xiamen is known for its mild climate, Hokkien culture and colonial architecture, as well as its very low pollution. In 2006, Xiamen was ranked as China's "second most suitable city for living", as well as China's "most romantic leisure city" in 2011. The compensation (net amount received by pilot after taxes are paid in China by the airline) ranges up to $29,360 USD per month ($352,310 USD per year) for B737NG Captains at XiamenAir. This is actual take home pay! XiamenAir offers the following work schedules: - 42 days of annual leave - 22 days ON, 8 days OFF or 44 days ON, 16 days OFF - 19 days ON, 11 days OFF or 38 days ON, 22 days OFF - 17 days ON, 13 days OFF or 34 days ON, 26 days OFF - 30 days ON, 30 days OFF or 2 months ON, 2 months OFF If you have at least 500 hours PIC in the B737NG or B737EFIS, 5,000 hours total time, 2,000 hours PIC time in multi-engine commercial jets and are under the age of 55 (may be waived by the airline), please provide the following contact information: Given Names: _____________ Surnames: _____________ Email Address: _____________ Phone Number: _____________ (include country code) Current Aircraft Type (B737NG or B737EFIS): ________ PIC Hours on Current Aircraft: ____ Contact us at [email protected] to schedule your interview Please feel free to pass this email to other B737NG or B737EFIS Captains Sincerely, |
Willing' - Saudia used to have the best coin; overtime bonuses; end of contract bonus and 8/9 hour cockpit duty protection but those days are disappearing quickly on the new contracts. Overtime used to be aplenty but not anymore (for expats at least). Hotels were (many still are) 5 star but that's changing while rostering under the FAA117 regs still have them doing double crew when the others are augmenting & SV augmenting when the others single crew. It all adds to the ambiance :} The 20/10 contract in Riyadh is going ok for many so far but it's a win win for the company and it's not set in concrete either... but it helps I guess considering the place you're living in.
Flynas has a good contract and days off in a row I'm told but is A320 local area mostly, as is SaudiGulf and FlyaDeal. So, a balance of pay vs time off vs lifestyle? Wrong industry nowadays buddy... change professions :}:D |

I kindly suggest if you are looking for people to apply for this job from this forum region, you might want to consider 777 pilots. There will be quite a lot of interest! |

Thanks. It's all good information. I realize that the golden days are long gone. Now I'm just trying to find the best of the ones that are out there. Unfortunately I don't have the narrow body PIC for Xiamen.
I know the ME used to be good. Just thought I'd see if there was anything worth leaving for. |

Who has the best Terms and Conditions?
Delta hands down. Plus with under a year upgrade you will be making $250,000 a year plus profit share. No other Airline can compete with that right now. |
Upgrade in under a year , means a lot of pilots not taking the upgrade , why?

Would have to be QR on the A320.
Take a look on Flight Radar at the Armada heading to the UK. (not for the first time in history) M.E. contract based in England the way things are going. (for those without a sense of humour, this post is a joke). |

Probably they can make more as a wide body FO and have a better quality of life. Still $250,000 is not too shabby Why won't they call me? I'll gladly fly a MD-80 for quarter million dollars a year to live in thee states. Sure beats Emirates. |
SOPS, Qatar have route restrictions in the ME, so the A320 is limited on the routes that it can operate, this appears to have freed up a lot of them for European airline rescue missions.
