B777 Door (don't let it happen)

As we, in this area, will be the future B777 X or 8/9 opererators in larger numbers, (in case all goes well), please, let's try to make Boeing aware that this horrible flight deck door entry chime has to change......it is so annoying.
Let's make some noise, in order not to have that noise!

Airmann 16th Jun 2017 00:15

Let me just get the number for the Boeing flight deck design team. Oh yes here it is
1-800-SHUTTHE****UPYOUPILOTANDDRIVETHEPLANE

Give them a shout.

Flyboy_SG 16th Jun 2017 01:19

Do they listen to line pilots !?

I tried the number but got ATC's voice mail.

Yeah they do.

Listened to the Boeing guys when they came to talk about 777X development in Dubai, they had a guy riding on the jump seat watching EKs operation, when they built the 777 they asked guys from lots of airlines what's bad about their aircraft and made subtle changes, slight curve on the 777 overhead panel vs flat overhead panel on 767, pilots asked for it.

You bet they will listen. I'd like a door bell 😂

Dropp the Pilot 16th Jun 2017 09:04

That nasty ol' bell must be deafening. It's so loud you failed to notice the ambulances taking 777 pilots to the hospital for seat-induced back injuries for the last 20 years....

There are larger design flaws.

My files say my last (only) CSR was two pages describing the crippling effects of the 777 seat. Dated 1999...........

The Turtle 16th Jun 2017 15:27

If our a$$ wasn't in the seat so often we wouldn't have such back trouble...

Buckshot16 16th Jun 2017 15:56

Airmann ... spot on ... I'm sure there'll be a NTO to your request, or alternatively OM-A Section 10 page 10.

Let's make some noise, in order not to have that noise!

Wakes you up suddenly so you can immediately sit up grab the recline handle and pretend that you were awake the whole time and therefore not have the F/A notice that you were sleeping just 5 seconds ago. That combined with having to kick the door several times(or give it a hipcheck) to open it gives you a full 10 seconds to wake up.

CaptainChipotle 18th Jun 2017 04:25

Haha, I can take the noise, just reduce the flight hours and get me a reasonable seat to sit on

JAARule 25th Jun 2017 16:23

Just tell them to knock instead.

Yorkshire_Pudding 25th Jun 2017 16:33

B777 - No Pilot CRC (don't let it happen again)

There's something really weird about that seat. It looks identical to a 737 seat, albeit electrically controlled, but the 737 seat is so much more comfortable. Are the cushions genuine Boeing parts, or are they a cheaper third party fit ordered by EK? Maybe the cushions have been flattened and compressed into a hard block by having weight on them for 23 hours a day.

donpizmeov 26th Jun 2017 10:33

Maybe you only sat on the 737 one for an hour at a time?

Flyboy_SG 26th Jun 2017 13:25

OR are you kidding? 737 seat is a lot more crappier.
