CM left? leaving?
I read on several posts that CM is leaving.
on others that he left already.... anything more than assumptions? Regards |
Kippa
If you see a Company publication stating he's left....he's left. Until then, assume he's still here. Easy. I wonder if surgeons, doctors, dentists and engineers ask the same pointless questions that so many pilots seem to? We do our profession no favours at times. Seriously! :ugh: Harry |
hello Harry,
I thought this forum was about rumours, I must have been mistaken |
C M had to travel to Germany for a family issue, very personal and very sad.
He is still very much at Emirates. The next person of high rank to be leaving will most likely be Sir Tim, although this is not officially announced just yet. C M is very much a man of principle it appears and seems to be able to detect where the rot is most embedded in the company. With a management to pilot communication statistic of well below 10%, he clearly sees that it's not the pilots who need changing/briefing here. C M is very open to communication and is willing to take appointments to discuss any important issues you might have been pondering. J |
As usual, I think we can disregard the rantings of HTC, he must by pining for the office again! It is a rumor forum after all and I thought it was a valid post as I was wondering the same.
CM is still on the 4th floor and will see pilots if you make an appointment and he does answer emails within a day, that from personal experience. From my observations he is a well spoken and respectful individual. Harry, the war ended over 71 years ago...get over it! |
Dn know why people in Ek have high hopes (for improvement!! ) from CM ... I don't remember any good thing happened after any management change in the past ,, once he done with mangers he will have time for us lator , carful what u wish for
|
Too right THRCLB. He is a bean counter. Repeat after me...all bean counters are bad. He is not going to improve the pilot job here. He acts towards bigger bottom line only.
|
Ask any person at Sabena or Aer Lingus about CM and see if they have any good memories of him and pilots T&Cs...

But that doesn't necessarily have to be at the detriment of the staff. Why not go and see him? Nothing to lose. He won't issue a warning letter! Press 4 in the Northern lift. I wasn't the first and won't be the last. |
If recent fifth freedom routes and pod of whales are any indication either CM is gone (or) mafia have been given second chance to prove themselves. Obviously they are not capable of proving themselves. Also...
Thou shalt not retire until last Trent inhales sand. |
Jumpinggoat449,
The difference between us and Sabina and AL is that we have nothing left to give. They never did 100 hour months and had proper contracts that he could reduce whilst making them work more. He might be able to reduce our package but that might bite him on the backside. He sure as hell cant make you work harder. |
You had to say that last bit out loud didn't you. Every time we think it can't get worse, or they can't work us harder, they somehow pull another rabbit out of the hat.
I think CMs recommendations don't happen until Apr 1. That being the new financial year. So a lot of people that have had to reapply for their jobs now, are expected to do so again in any new restructuring. |
Just a thought. If Timmy goes as well then there might be 2 new positions that could be filled by 1 (CM?) and both airlines work independently but without stepping on the others toes and stealing revenue?
It's coincidental that the fat is being trimmed from both companies at a time that both expat heads are heading out (most likely). J |
"You had to say that last bit out loud didn't you".
Hahaha, you're probably right Don. These muppets never cease to amaze me when it comes to innovative ways of shafting us. I shouldn't try and test them. |
Rumours currently going around at EK :
1- CM resigned 2- One of CM's recommendation was to reduce the number of habibis or increase their productivity. 3- CM fired two habibis at the HQ 4- CM got an offer from EY for JH's position. 5- many of CM's recommendations got shot down by management. 6- CM was hired to replace STC but management doesn't seem quite impressed. |
Rumours I hear normally are something about where the best happy hour is. Bit weird to have an interest about a bean counter.
|
Now your talking don-please advise where the 'hot spots' are now? :}

£2.30 a pint of Stella at the Marriot LHR.
That has to be one of the cheapest pints in the UK..! |
Cheap yes ... but it is Stella after all ... most Belgians don't touch it !
|
The hangover the next day is diabolical
|
It ain't called wife beater for nothing.
|
Word is CM has moved office to the 9th floor.
Since every floor below is a filter, approachability seems lost. Must be STC grooming him for baton pass. halas |

Mhm........ a lot of smoke |
If the Handelsblatt article has even a semblance of truth combined with strong suggestions that STC will step down this year then I would suggest one of the following:
1. EK is finished. CM and STC jump ship before the "water floods all the compartments", (you may recall there was no need for lifeboats because HMS EK is unsinkable by "just doing things better"). No CEO will want to be at the wheel when she goes "down by the bow". 2. CM heads up an undisclosed air service based in the nations capital, merges another airline based to the north (with a low cost division), and creates one large, lean and mean contender for air traffic in this region. In this region, he who has the most wins. |
Outlaw .
I think you may be onto something there ! |

Latest rumour (apart from him leaving) is he had a plan amongst the trimming down of numbers to reorganise the staff centre into a 24 hour operation with a skeleton staff in order to better cater for the thousands of employees who work a 24 hour operation themselves - pilots, c/crew, maintenance, dispatch etc etc. When it suits, crew could conduct their dealings before or after a duty instead of making the trek in on a day off to sit in a queue for hours.
the fat is being trimmed from both companies |

The departure of James Hogan was a joint decision with the board of directors of Etihad Airways. " James Hogan pursued a purchasing policy as an Etihad company chief, with the Gulf Carrier taking part in the most heavily deficient airlines such as Air Berlin, Alitalia, Air Serbia (formerly JAT), Jet Airways, Air Seychelles and Darwin Airline. In particular Air Berlin and Alitalia cost a lot of money because of horrendous losses and were only partly saved by means of Etihad grants, in each case in a three-digit million-euro-million-height, before grounding. The position of the CFO is also being filled, as the Golfcarrier explained. James Rigney is replaced and replaced by Ricky Thirion. However, the position of the Group CEO is not to be permanently covered by Ray Gammell, because Etihad Airways is looking for a successor. Christoph Müller, formerly Aer Lingus and Malaysia Airlines, has acted in the rumors. |
