Plane bounces while landing, 40 injured September 5, 2015 9:27 pm by BENJIE L. VERGARA CORRESPONDENT AT least forty passengers, including three children, were hurt when a Qatar Airways plane bounced while landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Saturday afternoon. The landing glitch was caused by turbulence after the plane passed through a windshear, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said. A windshear is defined as a variation in wind speed and direction. The MIAA said three children and two flight attendants sustained minor injuries. The airport medical team immediately assisted the injured passengers as the aircraft was towed to safety. One passenger requested to be brought to a hospital. Officials could not say if the windshear was caused by thunderstorm. |
