'Just Culture' safety reporting to finally reach the Middle East...?

Whilst living in hope for such a seismic shift with the safety culture in the region, it appears that those operators who are claiming 'alignment' with EASA regulations and standards have something new to aim for....

Arabian Aerospace - New European Union regulation to affect Middle East aviation

My own favourite quote in the article;

“We recognise transformation to a ‘just culture’ cannot happen overnight. Organisations need to overcome the behaviours that prevent occurrences being reported. They must ensure that their front-line staff won’t be punished as a result of reporting safety hazards or high-risk occurrences – and that staff believe this to be true.”

Hahaha, that's the best laugh/read I've had in ages! Can you IMAGINE the minions in the various departments at EK telling a local no, because it's not "just"
Hahaha, imagine all those little empires crumbling around them because all of a sudden the threat of arcane and indiscriminate stupidity no longer existed.

Already in place luckily in flydubai. Not at some other M.E. airline I've worked for. I can honestly say at flydubai it's written and enforced the way it should be; a proper non punitive and just culture. The only time you'll get into trouble is with gross negligence or misconduct. And that's fair.

You'll get people reporting just about everything safety related but I'll rather have it this way that fear of retribution. You make a mistake, then you own up to it, file a report, learn from it and move on. One of the good things at flydubai. :ok:

Reading out FDM data and comparing to 'what actually happend' takes a skilled brain with many years as a pilot/trainer in the same operation.

High Energy, are you serious?

"I can honestly say at flydubai it's written and enforced the way it should be; a proper non punitive and just culture".

Flydubai is way off having a non-punitive and just culture. The safety department are so busy covering up serious breaches of safety, that all the other stuff is just so insignificant to worry about. The CP is constantly circling trying to obtain the names of pilots who dare breach his instructions, thus begging the question of confidentiality.

If Flydubai was at all credible, it would do something about fatigue and all the related ASRs that have been, and continue to be, submitted.

As far as Flydubai and safety go, well let's just say they don't.

I was pretty sure we already had it;

You've just been found at fault and you've just been fired.
