I often go into "Where Are They Now" out of perverse interest in seeing who has dropped of the perch ahead of me. Because I am still here, the results often leave me aghast and, often, as of now, in unashamed tears. RIP dear Bob. What a fabbo Nairobi that was and one that we never stopped laughing about. Those who really know me and my interest in the afterlife, near-afterlife, haunted theory etc etc, will not be surprised to learn, that for some reason, Bob, kept sneeking into my thoughts for the last two weeks. I know why. Off the Jack & coke for a while but I am pouring a big one, right now, heading down to my pool & will indulge, raising the glass to you ole buddy as the sun sinks over the Oroklini hills. Big hugs to Dizey. Really choked but I can feel your hugs and slap over the face telling me to "Man Up !!!!" Damn, this is tough.

R.I.P Bob never forgotten!!!

Sad, sad news. Never flew with Bob, but shared many a room party in the days when the GF job was nothing but fun. RIP to one of aviations legends.

Did many a flight with Bob - the days when the crew hotel bath tubs where basically chillers for the supplied ( usually courtesy of GF) beer. I left when he was still an FO on the 76 but hear he got his command - on what I dont know.
Yup he sure was a character - lived hard and partied harder. |
Rest in Peace ol buddy...........but some how i think he would still call me a  canuck w%#ker.........because that was just his way....
certainly will be missed |
Same clas as Priesty..now in the same place ..RIP

RIP Bob
Although I was mostly on the other side of the RT from Bob in BAH, occasionally we found ourselves on the same side of a bar counter! One of the good guys! RIP bob.

Sad news
I first met Bob whilst out on a boat with an Ex 76 fo Dave Grant.think its was 93 and he was FE on the Tristar.Nothing but laughs all the way with this bloke, a really nice guy.I remember him telling me he had got lucky and got a job on the 76 as f.o after Gulf Air decided to part company with the Tristars solely because years earlier he had gained an American CPL. That was a great success story for going on to get his Command. He said he felt lucky because lots of the other blokes were now jobless. I was a Dj in Tobasco Charlies disco at the time and wanted to fly myself. He was was of the blokes who said go on get it done. Well Bob i did it mate got a Uk ATPL.I am really saddened at this news he was a great guy. Deepest sympathy to all of Bobs family and friends

Bob was the quintessential "Larger than life" chap. Lit up the room wherever he was and took command of social activity. I only did a short spell with Gf, moaned about everything and Bob put me straight, in Shirlock's, quite sternly but bought me a drink afterwards with that huge smile. Top bloke. Deep condolences to all, devastated by this news.
