CABIN AIR CONTAMINATION
Has anyone been smelling the effects of bleed air contamination onboard your aircraft? You may be well familiar with this but here is the latest on the BA story:

Article in Daily Mail
Quite a good article in todays Daily Mail about bleed air contamination. It suggests that the individual DNA makeup causes some people to be more susceptible to the effects of organophosphates in the cabin air. With much litigation in the pipeline, I think it should all hit the fan in the near future.

Though there may well be something to this story but Daily Mail and Good Article in the same sentence? Good grief! They almost single handedly caused the MMR crisis. Still even though over 100 hours this month, time in the bunk should keep us safe :ok:

There is a difference between normal operation and fume events . In those events i would be glad to be alive at the end of it . The article suggests that the cabin air is permanently polluted . But if the organophospates sensibility is true and by genetic predisposition guess what will happen ? Airlines will have another reason to declare a pilot unfit to fly . |
Flew a few machines that emit the strongest door on startup! Careful noted in the tech log, but is it too late?
With regard to the roster, 90 hours in "March", with 10 hours carried over to April. It almost feels like the new rostering system is already in use. Bid going West!! All going EAST!! |
