He was there. Was he there to have a look at the fatigue waiting pilots?
I donīt think so. He wanted to know why there are so many Lexus cars. Some months ago, someone decided to reduce the Volvo fleet by 30 cars to save a few DHS a day. In peak time you need the Lexus to cover the peak. It costs a little bit more than the saving. Finally someone found it out. Welcome Tomorrow. |
CoinOfScilence, that is the version I heard. I would have thought TC would have better things to occupy his time than crew transport but there you go, maybe this is a sign of senior management being more in touch with what is happening on the lower floors.

Whole heartedly agree with Fack5. Lexus experience was very refreshing. No need for Sturgeron anti-motion tablets before getting in. No need to monitor the rear view mirror to see if the driver is actually awake whilst cruising at 120kmph... Didn't fear for my life at all in the Lexus. It'll never catch on
|
One Lexus driver told me on the way to DWC that the EK drivers get 1200DHM a month pay.
They leave as soon as they can to drive taxis as that is much better in pay and tips. Must say that sitting in the flash Toyota listening to funky house music at 140Km/h on the 611 with a skilled driver was bliss. I was home in half the time. halas ps Agree with the motion sickness. Speedo needle rises...foot off peddle. Speedo needle falls...foot on peddle. Repeat. |
That was actually funny Halas

Sir Tim kicks crew transport arse...
Regarding airarabia's comment: Perhaps we could try and queue on the left and then when we have registered stand clear to the right. So that it's clear who is waiting for what. That's what I try and do although it doesn't always work.

I was told, independently, by two separate duty co-ordinators that Sir T was cut-off by one of the Lexus drivers on his way to work and came to enquire as to what they were doing at EGHQ. Needless to say no more Lexus Limo/Taxis, only "official" vehicles in and around the EGHQ. So for the next 2 months, until more Audi's can be ordered, its going to be a bit chaotic for us. Alas, no great humanitarian effort on his part for this who thought there was a legitimate concern for our wellbeing. :{

Nope, I've been in a Lexus since this debacle (just a couple of days ago), but this time it was a black one! Problem solved.
|
Took a white Lexus to EGHQ Sunday night!
|
If necessary they'll use the lexus to get you to work. But getting you home 11hrs later at 0700? Who gives a f**k... stand in line, slave!

Am told that as a result of said visit (in which no one lost their job, btw) that adjustments were made to the required number of cars to be added, in effect extra to what was already asked for. I won't give the exact number but it was to make up for cars leaving and extra on top to cope with demand. Change to be seen from April onwards apparently.

Is there more midnight arrivals? Or 6am ? Don't think they need anymore cars just less driver on a break.
Who has walked out the door to see 40/50 cars and no drivers.? |
I also love the AUTOMATIC wait in the car for 5 minutes while you're being told one more is coming...
If I didn't raise my voice and mention 5 minutes on the clock I'd sit there until another pilot came through the door going to the same area. |
Big airline now .....is size still important ?
|
Don't worry, once everybody is at Maydan and they put those big white labourers' buses on instead the problem will be solved!:E

Save me a window seat Big!
