Jeppesen bidding sytem at EK
Any word on when this new system is to be active?
Any info on what changes to the bidding process will be incorporated? Heard of max 3 days off in a row to be limit. Anyone else hear the same? Purely a rumour (friend of a friend of a friend type thing) but anything is possible |
From wash up,
Exact date not known, possibly sometime in 2015. We were told its been running on test mode for a while. Dunno what that exactly means. Fleet said no idea re the restrictions/rules that will be incorporated in it. TI74 |
Yeah, funny that. Not knowing about the restrictions. Complete BS from the lying mis-management.
|
brace for more restrictions coming our way....
productivity is not good enough... they did not get the 1000h from GCAA and now they will try to push on factoring. seems they are planing on stick time... So one can do an additional ULR plus some turns more... |
Can you clarify that, Flaphandle? I thought we were already doing stick time towards our 900 ' target'.
|
Was told that it should be active mid year. Approx 12 options to bid, was from JA at wash up.
J:suspect: |
Unfortunately no more info, but they are working on how to ad more hours without upsetting GCAA..
|
Heard of max 3 days off in a row to be limit. |
Some FO's got 7 days in a row this month , I guess they have a surplus this month !
|
Don't get excited about it, they'll put in so many restrictions and screw up a perfectly good bidding system the same as they have the current one.
It won't work!:ugh::ugh::ugh: |
Plus, heard that trainers and others will lose some ability to do pre bid trips, ie, restrictions and the loss of the 5 days off ability. Just passing on info.
|
73 days to go. Walking on the beach with the dogs. Waking up every morning next to my darling wife. No more jet lag. No more feeling under threat at every turn.
Can't wait. |
The real nasty part of this was no pilot input was allowed and the meaningless Manager Fleets were allowed to alter and add to it as they saw fit! The Airbus boss oven asked if the Manager Fleets would bear in mind living standards and the men haters scoffed at it!!
Go get your shares in KY as they is gonna be lots of it in use soon!!:mad: |
Fleet said no idea re the restrictions/rules that will be incorporated in it. Jeppesen - While they're at it why not show some brilliance and buy the documents package too... heard that trainers and others will lose some ability to do pre bid trips |
...but they always seem to be asking for YOUR continued cooperation.
|
and we cooperate...
|
JAARule
They should be getting trips to India and Africa to expose the trainees to the more challenging end of the spectrum instead of cycling around the Außenalster. |
73 days to go. Walking on the beach with the dogs. Waking up every morning next to my darling wife. No more jet lag. No more feeling under threat at every turn. Can't wait. Best of luck with the move, keep us all updated with developments as it may assist those of us looking to jump ship soon. |

Can't wait. Good man. Think you'll find it pans out even better than you anticipate! I left last year, mostly due to rostering issues, after almost 20 mostly enjoyable years. Believe me, there is life after flying and DXB. No regrets at all. Best of luck. 7B |
We have the Jeppesen bidding system where I work. Every once in a while I actually get a flight that I bid. Then again, I do always get my allowed days off when I want them.

If any of you think this will be an improvement to the current disaster you are delusional.
Emirates would not be paying a dime to go to a new system unless they are going to be able to squeeze even more blood out of you, your families and your life. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DUBAI AIRSHOW - Jeppesen, a part of Boeing Digital Aviation, will provide Emirates airline with Jeppesen Crew Rostering services to optimize crew scheduling for its global commercial aviation operations, through a new 10-year service agreement. The new agreement was announced during a ceremony at the 2013 Dubai Airshow at the Dubai World Central venue. Jeppesen Crew Rostering services will unify scheduling processes for the current 22,000 Emirates crew members with the potential to expand to more than 32,000 global Emirates crew members. Jeppesen Crew Rostering is a component of the family of Boeing Digital Aviation solutions that optimize operations and increase efficiency for airlines. Through the agreement, Jeppesen will provide its Crew Pairing solution to optimize JetBlue’s monthly crew pairings for all pilot and in-flight crewmembers. Jeppesen’s industry-leading crew pairing capabilities will be used to increase operational efficiency and enhance quality of life for crewmembers, while reducing overall costs related to crew planning for JetBlue’s 850 daily flights. JetBlue will operate the Jeppesen Crew Pairing product in-house, customized for JetBlue needs, using Jeppesen’s industry-leading pairing optimizer to enhance the airline’s crew planning capabilities. “Providing cost savings and increased overall efficiency through optimized crew pairings will provide JetBlue with an operational advantage in a competitive business environment,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “We will support JetBlue in managing crew planning through this agreement and are pleased to team with such a dynamic airline that continues to expand its operations.” Here is a link to a PDF outlining this new system for those who might be interested in what crew control will be using to decimate your existence later this year. http://ww1.jeppesen.com/documents/av...wRostering.pdf |

Crew Rostering System Replacement
The current Crew Rostering system, CRS, is scheduled for replacement this year. After extensive research by the various stakeholders, Jeppesen was selected as the new provider. Best known for flight operations solutions, Jeppesen needs no introduction to pilots. It currently provides the Crew Planning solutions for Qantas, Singapore, BA and Virgin Atlantic, to name just a few. This is a significant project for Network Ops, IT, Service Delivery and Flight Ops. Work is well underway and we hope to introduce the system in the latter half of the year. We will update you as we get closer to the go-live date and a training package will be provided for you. |
Jeppesen needs no introduction to pilots As much as I hate the use of newspeak and buzzwords like "stakeholders," the pilot body was obviously not considered to be one of them. Or did I miss the request for volunteers to provide user-feedback?? Stakeholders........ some tosser's been studying corn flakes MBA. |
This is a significant project for Network Ops, IT, Service Delivery and Flight Ops I hear that Jeppesen are less than impressed at the running around that EK have giving them with the countless tweaks and amendments. |
Jepp bidding system goes active in March.
Watch out EK pilots it is about to get a whole lot worse and most of didn't think that was possible. |
It will be just like the old system. It won't work as it's designed to do. Emirates will fill it full of so many punative rules and regs, that it will collapse, just like the old one.
I won't care. When it goes live, my personal roster will involve talking to the dogs about what time they want to go to the beach, and what time I should make my darling wife dinner. ( I will talk to her about this of course, not the dogs!) Best of luck all. |
Jepp bidding system
This system used at Qatar Airways. Why not ask their pilots how well the system works for THEM?
|
Because QR will not have tweaked it in the same way that EK will have!
