UAE bombs Libya
did anybody hear that UAE aircraft are bombing bad guys in Libya? Apparently totally independently with no help or knowledge from other Western nations.
Egypt And The United Arab Emirates Bombed Libya - Business Insider |
If this is true , we have two GCAA members arming , and bombing , different sides . Not the greatest idea . Time will tell .

Great news
At least someone is standing up to them. Why should Obama be consulted anymore he is a weak leader who is scared of being ridiculed. If ever the west needed to step up to the mark, it is now. |
Ah....Fox News viewer.

Hi there
Can't get fox where I live and in any case I like to think my views would be taken from different angles, as no side as the monopoly on truth. I realise in the States opinions can be polarised and you sound like you could be one of those individuals. Anyway my views are just an opinion. |
Now also on BBC News.
BBC News - Libya crisis: US 'caught off-guard' by air strikes It seems UAE tried to intervene against the Islamists, but at least as far as Tripoli Airport is concerned, it failed. The Islamic group now have control - - - over a bombed out, burnt out, closed facility. |
EK is getting really aggressive about getting back into TIP.

Do you mean GCC? GCAA Doesnt make sense |
did anybody hear that UAE aircraft are bombing bad guys in Libya? did anybody hear that UAE aircraft are bombing bad guys in Libya? Apparently totally independently with no help or knowledge from other Western nations. I sincerely doubt that, considering uae operates F-16s and Mirage 2000s. That and the fact they are the most useless, fattest bunch of worthless f***s every to put on a uniform and try to bomb people who cannot shoot back. GCAA - wtf does the GCAA have to do with this, are they trying to approve 12hr duty periods for F-16 pilots (only with inflight refueling) ? |
Ok , ok , GCC , lets not get in a twist . Of course I didn't mean the Civil Aviation Authority of Grenada , Georgia or Ghana !

Was wondering why a UAE A330MRTT was parked at the far end of the military apron at HECA the other day.
halas |
Oh dear I suppose this means the people smugglers will be busy from now on.
Scores feared dead after boat sinks off Libya - Middle East - Al Jazeera English |
The Libyans wish to embrace democracy and the moderate Islamists will need to be listened to and included in a future Libya. The dictatorial approach to freedom of speech that is used by the UAE, (and most Gulf states) is not needed or welcome in Libya. Not only have the UAE used force when diplomacy is what is really needed but they seem to have forgot that the biggest threat in that country is in the East and not the West.
|
It was a mistake. They were aiming for Israel, but they fly like they drive.
|
That was the funniest post in weeks!

Good video analysis here from The Guardian

More worrying perhaps, is that no-one has commented on the threat to the UAE.
What will the response be by those who've been attacked. Reprisal, some form of like for like? :ugh: |
Exactly, now UAE airlines may well be terror targets too... we are not quite as safe as we were before this!
|
Very good point Helen.
When you target someone, you become their target. We Americans know that, yet we have tools and experience to combat it. This country does not. But 9/11 shows nothing is infallible. Short sighted move for a country that relies on tourism & logistics...especially since the airport got taken by the targeted party anyway. Tut tut tut. f. |
