FM, MF WTF?
So what's going on?
We now have a Fleet Manager and a Manager Fleet. Only this stupid airline could do that, so what's next, Pilot Chief?:ugh: |
Which airline might that be??
|
Dunno, one from the United Arab Emirates possibly?
|
EK
They love this s... Laughable |
FM, MF WTF?
Technical Supervisor or Supervising Technician?
Cafe Latte or coffee with milk? |
Manager before is Grade 10
Manager after is Grade 9 Been that way for a long time. Needless to say Grade 10's are eyeing up next jump to VP |
Abandoning the pilot upgrade process is actually a great idea.
Money that was spent on that ridiculous process could be re-directed and spent on support and advice for new captains as well as hiring managers who are approachable and willing to help you and educate you when you have an issue rather than those who want to punish you and shake a stick at you. After all, how many guys don't eventually upgrade...just have a look at the seniority list. |
Come on. EK would have cast their net to the east and we would have ended up with the usual.
What harm's done doing it the way they have? Seems HR may have been cut out of the loop which, in my opinion is a good thing. No more jobs for mates of mates maybe. |
If we do, who cares, what difference will it make?

Years ago, on the market and looking for a job, I phoned and asked if I could speak to the Chief Pilot. The reply was ; "Which one ?" !

Is it possible those on the 777 fleet may now stand a decent chance of having emails replied to??? The outgoing set a new standard in ignoring emails.
Wait and see but rumour has it the new FM is still attending the indoctrination course - it's not easy deciding which emails to delete and which to ignore, you know... :D |
I have had occasion to send them three emails over the last few years, in each case concerning matters which were important to me. In no case did I even receive an acknowledgement of my email, much less any type of considered response whatsoever.
Conversely, when they summoned me to come to the office to fulfill their quota of pointless pilot agitation their form-email included a box I had to tick to acknowledge that I had read the email and would attend in person at the apponted time. Those two paragraphs should suffice to tell you everything you need to know about fleet "management". |
