Effectively, no. However, a company will be thinking of how many years' gainful employment they will get.

When I joined my company however there were two gents in my group already into their fourties. They had lots of experience and impressed on the interview.

I believe direct entry captain at Qatar is 58 max age at time of joining. I didn't check but think the age is listed with minimums on web site.
