the allowances are crap anywhere but if you are a captain and depend on the allowance then you must be some sort of greedy a**hole

So I REALLY hope those who are keeping the info very close to their chests DO know what they are doing. If not ...........well it wouldn't be the first time would it!?

I would be surprised if the 380 is not profitable, after all EK must be getting them at a massive discount considering that they are the only airline really buying them now (without the EK order at the airshow Airbus wouldnt have sold a single airframe last year).

Whether the discount is enough to put the yield above the 777 given the extra costs is another matter though.

And, my friends, EASA has just issued another AD (one yesterday and one today) for the wing spar on the 380 to fix the problems the original fix (AD) has now created. Geez. Here we go again.

EK couldn't be bothered. Take the whale off the line, let them join the many that are always outside the maintenance hangars, let the good ol' tractor do the work and get hefty compensation from the European taxpayer. The balance sheet therefore still shows a nice profit, so it must be an excellent aircraft.

At least it seems to be "cost neutral". :ugh:
