Still eight years away and a number of nations media groups justifiably angry at losing the bid are circling like wolves.

The workers rights stories of not only blue collar workers but crew etc will peel back this onion in a way never seen before.

Just think of the interviews in UK/Oz/US of an HIV positive athlete competing when asked their opinion on "Do you think deportation from a country is the answer".., or to a father player "do you think getting fired for being pregnant is ok?"

Lets not even start on Jews & gays.

When will the world wake up and stop this renegade teenager Qatar is. I don't know what the definition of a "nation" is but i fail to see how Qatar would qualify. Just like i fail to see how QR could be a 5 star airline since in my book it is not an airline in the first place. Yes, for the astronauts of Northafrica this is probably their Lufthansa/BA/Cathay.
But, dudes, do I feel sorry for all those Nepalese workers dying everyday due to an astrononomical and mysterious amount of "cardiac" cases. Do thei actually believe we believe those numbers and lies. Bet I could call Merkel or Brown and aks them for their numbers and the answer would be: look it up, moron, our numbers are official. The Qatar officials respond with nonsence like "all our workers have right to water, and cannot work when the temperature is above 45 C".
My point is that the discussion here and elsewhere is absurde. We have to stop considdering and comparing Qatar with real nations and societies when it would make more sence to conpare it to the likes of North Korea, Zimbabwe, Liberia and of course all of Northafrica. I was there. I worked under that "CEO".I was abused - and so was my family. Thankfully to day I am able to face the reflection I see en the mirror. Back then I was'nt.

The seeds that Qatar / QR are planting today with respect to corruption , human rights and modern day slavery will only grow more poisonous as more and more people around the world become aware of such issues. By trying to corrupt ICAO , the World Cup , funding a religious war ( Syria ) , and violating workers rights , the list of those who wish Qatar to fail is growing longer and longer. A very fatal set of circumstances.

Putting the homosexual issue aside for a moment, I wonder whether Israel would be welcome to play in Qatar if they qualified? Or their local supporters? Charters from Tel Aviv? I doubt it. As for gay Jews, I shudder to think.

At least us folk in the tolerant West have no such issues as far as sport goes.

And what about Brazilian girls in " revealing" clothes dancing on the corniche..?

hahaha loc remember the time there was a big fight between the egyptian fundamentalist woman and the American girl, which resulted in they tried to enforce "local" swimming costumes only at the Ain Khalid swimming pool? The method is well known:

1 - deny everything.
2- present themselves as victims of a plot.
3- blame others.

beluga from the way things are in real life, its seems like nasa to the astronauts from your country as i can see by the way you guys are running to work there for the tax free salary etccc

Let's not get lure :
Yes there is no tax on the salary BUT

-You pay a fortune for the education of your kids( partially or entirely covered if you are "lucky")
-you pay a fortune to rent a decent accomodation( again covered entirely if you are lucky)
- No pension( so you will have to save a lot...if you can)
- No Bonus.( just a thinly end of service benefit)
Don't get lure with "the big fat" tax free salary you receive here, unless you are single,without kids,you will have to be wise when it comes to spend your money here,...if you want to keep an apple for the thirst for later on.
