questions about emirates airlines and its culture

hello everyone.

I have a questions about emirates airlines. since i am physically located in South korea. there are limited access to *real* informations about the company.

Recently, they traveled all the way to South korea and recruited people to work for them as a customer service person. i was a bit surprised to know there salary scale. it was.. so nothing.

they indicated in the terms and conditions papers, saying that they are going to offer more or less than 1000US dollars for 42 hours a month.
that is if you go and just find any ramdom store, market, or wherever you go and work as a part-timer in korea, you get 20% more than the total of what Emirates suggested.

Of course, they said they are offeing unlimited numbers of airlines ticket as a benefit but it is still if you do not support your basic needs of liiving with that money. using up your tickets to travel may sound extravagant.

I believe they are coming to hire some people here in korea for the preparation for their airport expansion, so i believe they might come back later for another recruitment event.

then, i would like to suggest my position changes that is better suits for my qualifications and my average incomes that i receive from my current employer. for example, i apply for service person and have a interview for that position and then, when i reach up to the final interview, saying ' i am happy with this position but i would see myself more suitable for Sales position considering my qualifications and former work experiences'.

what do you think? if there are anyone familiar with this kinds of negotiation and the emirates culture, do you think that they might accept for me request and make some flexibility on my application process? or is the company too strict and consevative about thier own way of weird rules?

Please many replies!

Thanks!

I am not EK, but will try to answer

I am not EK but am involved indirectly, so have, some , slight knowledge for you.

EK are a reasonable employer, not perfect, but then very few are perfect.

In general EK will not be too interested in negotiation, they have enought clout not to go begging at road shows.

I would not think that you will see "umlimited" free tickets, and more than you will see plenty of OFF time.

EK salary is not very impressive. If you are receiving accomodation and other perks then the package is acceptable.

In general CC and admin staff do not work at EK for the gross salary, but the nett benefits, inc the section on the next CV that said 2 years in EK.

Hope this is of some benefit, until an expert arrives with more details foer you.
