Rumours
Confirm that Brisbane now starting on the A380 now 1st July with the new uniform rollout? :ok:
Brisbane bought forward due to the severe payload restriction on the 777 in the summer temperatures, good news for staff travellers!:D Perth and Adelaide starting now Oct 1 on the A380?:confused:k Hearing rumours of Australia going exclusively to the flagship A380 by year end, can anyone confirm these now persistent rumblings?:) T |
Where did you hear Adelaide? Not sure if that's possible.
The new Perth flight will go 380. I doubt exclusive Australia as you still have the via SIN/BKK/KUL 777 flights. Oz |
Heard the same...OZ direct belongs to A380....US to follow
|
Oh dear, yeah i've heard the same when at the college recently. Most ULR flying to transfer to 380, all direct Oz trips and all USA trips. I guess we keep the new JFK via MXP and the MEL/BNE/SYD via SIN/KUL/BKK.......for now.:(
I wonder if tis time to make that call to request the 380 transfer. Stil, on the brightside we've just announced Libya on the 777 so not all bad!:ugh: |
Viewing it from another vantage point...as the 330's/340's disappear, the dreaded night India turns and other truly crappy flights will slowly migrate to the 777...a much welcomed relief for the overworked and overly tired Airbus guys. Remember, it's not only about the 777/380....the 330/340 is still here.

350-900 in 2015? There's no way that airplane is going to be in service by then. 350 orders will get converted in some form to 380s, and this will be a two-type carrier once 330/340s are all retired.

TC has said repeatedly that the 359 is too small. The 351 will not be ready until 2017 earliest ... So watch that space.
Here are the current rumors floating about. -another top up order of 30 of 77Ws at DXB airshow to fill the developing minibus/classic T7 void. -launch order for 77X at above venue -380 to continue to replace 777 on Oz/US. ADL? Not so sure. US GDP is now growing at 2.4%. 2014 looking robust, look for the 380 to replace on IAH/LAX/DFW/SFO/IAD at which stage the next part of the US expansion to begin using 777 - DTW.PHL.BOS.MIA.ATL ORD soon HGW version of 380 not coming until Mar 14 though -LATAM - GIG to go direct (world cup/Olympics) EZE to become a stop on the way to SCL (good source on that one) 380 to do GRU when airport work finished with a 2nd daily using 777 -EU . Continued development of TATL. Italy looks very vulnerable after latest Alitalia results... If MXP.JFK works ...interesting Oslo, STN, BRU(SN Africa connections vulnerable with our cost model) Finnair just announced DXB - so probably not HEL. -South Asia -India bilaterals just revamped - Boeing boys get ready! -Russia - Volgograd (Stalingrad) coming. -Asia - Bali through SIN as a shuttle. Trying hard to increase China. The authorities not cooperating. Chengdu would be first. The old chestnut of Ulan Bator on the 330 has gone quiet. -Canada/Germany - gangbusters if we get approval - unlikely -Africa - growing a lot as will we. ...don't shoot the messenger re above just sayin. f. |
