Teahid A330 Not Tr FO

Dear All

I need a clarification...is it true that from now on A320 type rated new hires are going to be put straight on A330 and who is already flying the 320 is going to stay on the cattle car for 3 more years?Someone said that 320 training capacity reached its limit.... ok but if they will start type rating people on A330 training capacity will be overloaded as well....so how it will be possible to continue "CCQuing" and Tr new joiners at the same time???
To me It is not worth to fly the 320 for 3 more years to stay maybe 1 year on 330 and then come back on 320(inshallah) as Captain. In a shorter period of time i could have a better quality of life(no night flights)and be a 320 Captain somewhere else....
Suggestions are more than welcome!
Cheers

True. It does not say all of them though.

who is already flying the 320 is going to stay on the cattle car for 3 more years
Not true. That is a wrong inference.
FYI, A320 pilots that are being CCQ have joined between 12 and 16 months ago.

It is.

Try Emirates, they are looking for Super-pilots to fly their shiny super vortex busses.

...and just for info on which fleet are you on?????
If you fly the 320 well i will think about it but if you are on a bigger plane well...you shoud have kept quiet!

New hires direct to 330 ,sounds nice but I am pretty sure the current 320 guys are going to be upset!!!!!

CRUIZE 12th Oct 2011 17:59

Say( inshalla ) nobody get upset

FYI i forgot to mention...yes we had been advised that we could have spent 3 years on the tuc tuc but if you said you would have put De 320Fos straight on 330 that would have probably made the difference on where to apply or whether to accept the job offer(remember that we got a training bond although we were already type rated...:suspect:).
Anyway let's say that i trust you,i want to see if the assurances received from that email will be fulfilled.let's come back here after some time...

cheers

And those that do go direct 330... will, after 2 OPCs CCQ back to 320 (MFF). So all will be even again.

how will they ccq them back on 320 if they have been hired on 330 due to 320 training overloaded?

give me a logical answer and i will be more than happy to accept it

Last question mark....with a bit of argument...

Everyone here says that 320 pilots complaint too much... with one more valid reason after the "good" news of 330 defos....you all know very well that if you are on the bigger bus or on the 777 you are going to get a bigger amount of money compared to what we get on 320 when paycheck comes....so it's not only a matter of career,it's a matter of money. The longer i stay on 320 the bigger is the money i lose...Why all crews don't get the same money no matter what they fly? That's the first step into discrimination between long and short haul fleets, that's why no one wants to stay on 320 for long time as well...so gentlemen could you please give me a valid reason of being silent and happy after all that?

cheers

I totally agree with your statements, but seeing that the current FOs are CCQing to the 330 within barely a year of hire as compared to the guys that came three years ago and CCQed within 2.5 years of hire is a deffinite improvement by EY. Be patient it will happen.

Aviator 3200....when you signed on the dotted line....how long did the company tell you that you would fly on the minibus fleet?

bmwm5 12th Nov 2011 08:47

Well I did my sim cx on a A330 sim but nothing mentioned on which fleet we will be going into....

aviator3200 13th Nov 2011 08:34

you will go on 330! and just for info they are advertising for 340 defos as well

bmwm5 17th Nov 2011 05:10

Any idea how long will EY take to inform if you got the job or not?

bmwm5 2nd Dec 2011 03:22

Well I just got my letter of offer but type of aircraft not stated....I guess it depends on company requirments at the time of joining...

safelife 2nd Dec 2011 15:24

Where's the point then to join Etihad on A330 being rated, if they CCQ me to the MiniBus madness soon after?
Much better off joining EK or QR on A330 then, isn't me?

And that in the light that EY is the only one of the three who is asking 330 rating and time in type to go 330?!

AFD 2nd Dec 2011 16:20

safelife
if you join 330 and you are already 330 rated you will be ccq to 340 after 2 opc on the 330 and at least 500hrs on it

if you join 330 without 330 type rating (being very experienced on 320) you will be ccq to 320 after 2 opc on the 330 and 500 hrs

Safelife: You'll find that ICAO Level 4 or better will help with your application to EK...

Thanks, AFD.
