Dubai Airshow 2011
Hi
Sorry if this is wrong forum but I thought this would be the best place to ask... Im interested in going to the DXB 2011 airshow, looking at the website it looks like its just an industry big wig shin dig? They've had some pretty cool hardware flying in the past, do they accommodate the great unwashed or can you watch from outside the fence Thanks |
You can normally go inside and look around and get close-up to the aircraft, there are of course the usual VVVVVIP areas.
It isn't always a big event, but it is normally a good afternoon! Miles |
You can get in, but in order to, you must purchase a pass, and be over 16 years of age. I think the pass was AED 100, but I'm not sure whether it's for the whole show, or just for one day.
Hope I was in help. |
Thanks a'lot guys much appreciated :ok:
Seeing as its the only airshow around these parts will be good to check it out! If I get the days off that is haha :} |
Don't waste your money, it's a rip off. Unless you are connected, qualify for VIP parking, a VVVVVVIP tent and are in a position to buy a fleet, you aren't allowed within 50' of an aircraft. Ok you are allowed within 50' but forget about access to the majority of hardware on show The show is geared more for the trade than public
Just not worth the entry fee…… save your money for an air show elsewhere, alternatively, if you live in Dubai then go watch it from the roof of the EK parking lot. First 2 hours free, thereafter Dhr10 per hour. Should you choose to go, please be so kind as to pass on your thoughts after having attended the show |
Or, if you have friends in the media, ride along on their press pass and get access to everything..... ;)
Not that anyone does this of course :E |
And what will EK order this year? 100 A380's 50 A350's 100 B777's 50 B748's?
Interesting times I guess. |
Some decent food would be a good start :hmm::O

recruiters
Guys
Are recruiters and agencies going to be there. Is it a good place for job contacts for pilots or not ? jo |
Any idea what will be participating in the flying display? I understand it is daily from 14.15-17.15, but the website only states 'The daily flying demonstration will display a full complement of both civil and military aircraft, including the Eurofighter Typhoon, Boeing’s F18 Super Hornet and Dassault’s Rafale fighter'. In addition, there will be two display teams, the French, and for the first time the UAE aerobatic team.
I presume therefore the B787 will be static only. No sign of the B748, and I would guess the only A380 would be those of Ek departures from 15.30-16.00. |
Spoke to a Y130 en route from OERK to OMDB. The PIC advised it was an Italian supersonic trainer. I guess they need them for a Quick retreat.:ouch:
Not sure if it will be static or part of the display.:ok: |
Apparently EK recruiters will be on the stand :hmm:
|
From the looks of this they'll be showing off the 787 interior... to whom, I have no idea.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner Arrives at Dubai Air Show - Nov 12, 2011 Sadly for anyone working until the last day (like me) if you're not there by the 16th it's going home.... :{ |
The flying programme may change slightly from day to day but should include,
