peefactor,
to have a valid opinion you have to fly both in day to day operation, most guys here have never flown the other type and dont know what they are talking about.

etops777 30th Jul 2011 10:03

I've flown B744, B777 and airbuses...all have had their good and bad. At the end of the day it's the quality of life and pay that count. If theres anyone that is willing to pay me good wages to fly a light cessna I will jump right in.

Good money and lifestyle win over a type rating.

I tought we all worked for Emirates not either Airbus or Boeing.

Such a divided pilot group, no wonder why "they" don't take us seriously.

Truth is guys,

Youll learn to love any aircraft of the Money and lifestyle is spot on :ok:

Cool thread :-) A couple of questions for the insiders :

1. How can you change fleets ? Is there some form of bidding / freeze ?

2. Unrelated question: Where are the bunks on the 777 ? Overhead by the first class galley, at the back with the crew, or in some other location ?

Cheers.

You can't unless there is some form of surpuls on one fleet.

a33/340 pilots can bid to the A380- and this will SUPPOSEDLY be opened to the 777 pilots at some point, but not yet (A small group was supposed to go as they were too short on th 330/340 to release anyone, not sure how many.)

Down the back. If AF447 had been one of our Boeings, the Captain would have never made it back to the Flight-deck.

Having flown both Boeing and the Bus; Just my opinion:

I would never want to fly the Airbus again, its so boring, you just read out FMA's and move the thrust levers twice on 90% of your flights ...... However, the Bus would be a fine aircraft to fly close to retirement as it reduces workload as long as you dont have any tech problems on the aircraft.....

Now, Boeing in my opinion, is an absolute gentlemans aircraft to fly, and i feel the Boeing 767 had the perfect mix of manual + automation.

so please, before bashing me for my comments, i say again, this is my opinion!

:)

I do not care which acft is better, just give me a chance to upgrade. This stuff about A380 upgrading is a lie,it is just to keep the F/Os here.:ugh:

Ab vs Boeing

Have flown both. When I arrived the life on the bus was better. Better fleet.... Switched to the Boeing when AB rosters fell apart....better fleet. Both are fine aircraft but after 6months who gives a rats ass who makes it. Anyone who writes in here to defend this aircraft over that aircraft sounds ridiculous. Grow up you idiots. No wonder the the management treat us like children.

Spot on FcU, they are just aircraft, lifestyle is the ONLY thing that matters

Bus429 29th Aug 2011 06:59

I love reading these willy-waggling spats. You pilots are something else.
FcU: spot on.
