The EK portal

Anyone else having issues getting in at the moment? Not only can I not get on, but when I do, every page that is opened further requires a password to be re-entered :ugh:

This is doing my head in at the moment.

Eric Carr 20th May 2011 02:24

Works just fine for me:)

SubsonicMortal 20th May 2011 03:01

I had the same thing this morning using Safari on OS X. On every page it took me back to the groupworld login page but I then tried Google Chrome on OS X and it worked for me.

captainsmiffy 20th May 2011 05:23

This happens to me, periodically.....the IT guys often do not know what to do. Problem is usally resolved with several calls to IT. Eventually the one who knows what to do is on duty and job is sorted!

Oblaaspop 20th May 2011 07:13

Have had the same problem over the last couple of days only on my Mac though!

IE on Windows works fine, but on both my Mac Pro and iPad I'm having this issue.

EGIT got me to reset my Safari settings but has made no difference. Seeing as this is now affecting many people and many different Mac products, I can only assume that they have updated something from their end and it is conflicting..... When I asked the IT guy that, he went very quiet!!:hmm:

flaphandlemover 20th May 2011 07:53

just my little thought....

when i asked during fleet wash up, the MANAGMENT told us, EK is a windows company.

As we are all aware of saving costs, EK should consider changing to OSX...

Would safe loooots of downtime and manpower to restore normal ops....

Fellowship of the drink 20th May 2011 11:07

I just had to login for every damn window I open and I am using WIN 7 !!!! EK is A windows company? more like a window washing company... :ugh:

Portal Outages

Not sure if they use the same server/networks for the CC and FC portals but I've noticed over the last few months that it tends to fall over on weekends and/or late afternoons. Also bear in mind the CC rosters are rolling out over the last few days & this normally shuts it down periodically while all the CC stampede to see which journey through India they've got this month... :P

Has anyone else had the problem of clicking on links in emails sent from management redirecting to a random search page and not being able to read them at all? (That is, if anyone else actually bothers to read emails from management... :E) E.g. the "news roundup" type thing they send out contains links to articles on new EK route or whatever, it just keeps redirecting to a dodgy-looking search results with the first link being "Groupworld" but no mention of the actual content referred to in the email.

The re-logging in to check each page is driving me nuts too, same in IE or Firefox but seemingly at random??? Doesn't matter which country I'm in either or with/without VPN.

dubaicrew 20th May 2011 23:07

having the same issue here, Macbook pro!

falconeasydriver 21st May 2011 05:58

All the fault of IE9, and those pesky windows updates.

Removed the update, and it all worked just fine. Dam you evil M Soft.

TangoUniform 21st May 2011 13:32

I didn't update my Windows and am having the same issue. Updating shouldn't have and affect but I'm barely able to turn a Windows based computer on. Any hints? No other secure site on anything anywhere am I having an issue. Oh well......

White Knight 21st May 2011 15:26

No updates on my XP - and very slow portal with password needed for every page:ugh: and the same on my Mac!!!!!!!

pool 21st May 2011 16:46

Same here.

My guess it's a fiddling around by the good old paranoid. By that I mean that it might not even be EK, but Etislut and du trying to impeach all our efforts with vpn, skype and so forth. this could affect any connection with passwords and log-ins.

Good old local greed then.

Had the technicians in for a connection problem and even they struggled with some unexpected shutdowns and slow connections.

givemewings 21st May 2011 19:05

Oh no, you said the S word... :E

INLAK 22nd May 2011 07:17

Same problem here. Running OS X on an iMac.

givemewings 22nd May 2011 07:35

Yep, think it is Etislut again.... was using the S program this morning and it was total gibberish... people o nthe other end could hear me fine but could not get any clear sound on my end. funnily enough I used it in China only a few days ago with no problems accessing via a VPN... Face Book, and all the other supposedly 'blocked' sites...

Yet most everything this morning is running like treacle... argh....

Funnily enough the portal seems to be working fine???

donpizmeov 22nd May 2011 07:43

Its working fine here, I have the older member of the duopoly as the provider. Funnily sites I normally need a VPN for are working fine VPN free atm. I had a problem with the portal when checking mymint, which caused multi log in pages, but after logging out and back it works fine.
I am using a real computer with the new MS updates, and also one of those Mac peices of cr@p.

INLAK 22nd May 2011 07:46

I'm with Du and it's worse this morning than over the weekend. I can't access any pages without it redirecting me back to the login screen. It's even caused my browser (safari) to crash twice in the last 10 minutes.

falconeasydriver 25th May 2011 05:33

Typical, just as I get everything sorted..now the bloody HR direct module is running about as fast as a paraplegic with a flat tyre!
Anyone else having issues? Admittedly I'm not in the pit at the moment, but still have a broadband connection.

pool 25th May 2011 09:20

fd

I guess you are on the new IE9.
If so, click on top left, onto the blue folder symbol, looking like it's torn. This is the compatibility view prompt. Then it should work.

cheers
