Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022
Breaking News! Qatar will host FIFA WORLD CUP 2022.
This is pretty good for Qatar... and what about Qatar Airways? In which way do you guys think this will contribute for QR success? |
Fantastic news for Qatar and all the football supporters in and around the Gulf.
Hope they don't hold it in the summer months ... little bit hot! |
World cup is held around June-July after the European football season.
|
I'm sure it will bring some good benefits for QR as it would be for sure the official carrier of the World Cup...
|
I'm just thinking what Qatar is planning to do with the 15 airconditioned stadiums after the world cup!!!
:ugh: |
Qatar will dissemble the stadiums and reassemble them in 3rd world countries,
that's what they planned to do after the world cup, I think it's a very generous gesture. |
$2022.0000
This has nothing to do with football.
I am not a fan. The world's biggest festival of football with an audience of hundreds of millions of people will have no choice but to watch this event on TV. A few thousand fans wil be able to attend in person so long as they fit the desirable profile of this medieval country. The stadia will be superb and air conditioned. The changing rooms will be out of this world. They will be built by slave labour who are working for approximately $5oo per month and have no civil rights whatsoever. The people of Qatar have no interest in football. The right to stage this competition has been bought. It will take some time for this to be demonstrated by the media but 12 years should be enough. FIFA have confirmed what everyone suspected of them. |
QR announces that they will operate a fleet of 110 aircraft by 2013... I really think that this World Cup can increase this numbers... and they have 12 years to plan their strategy.
I know the World Cup it's just one month, but it has a giant publicity worldwide until it starts. Tourism facilities will be developed... I bet Qatar will never be the same... The New Doha Intl. Airport is the first step! Anyone knows when will it be really ready? |
Dear Sheik Wayne Bin MU
Great news. The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar, the heart of football in the Middle East since 22 December 2010.
Now that Qatar have secured two sets of goal posts and a white line making machine we are anxious to put together the team of diehard professionals that will make this event the huge success that it deserves to be. Given your liking for shagging around, spitting and foul language, the Qatari Football Association would like to employ you as an ambassador who properly represents everything that Qatar loves about football. Money is no object so as soon as you have a few days free from your intensive training regime perhaps you could come down here and spend a few days living it up in the Qatari disco and nightlife world. There is nothing they like more here than a bit of binge drinking, roudy and abusive singing followed by some chucking up in the streets and a few good natured brawls. At least the supporters that are able to come here will be able look forward to finding out if they will be allowed to leave at the end of their visit. You'll be 37 by then and if your performance in any critical match is anything to go by will be well past your sell by date so this could be the perfect opportunity for you to add to your remarkable portfolio. What a great day for the beautiful game! |
2022 Qatar
Just Move on and get a life... its 12 years away but actually its a good thing!
Why can't anybody be positive about this.? Att. Moderator! We should rename this forum as winers forum or correct my level 4 english to complainers forum! |
I'm delighted for Qatar overall, congratulations to them and their bid!
I'm sure that laws on alcohol will be relaxed enough for anyone who enjoys drink in moderation to have a good time. If they lock away some of the scum bags then good on them! Some real issues with regard to slave labour though. I would hope that FIFA will put pressure accordingly, but sadly I suspect the building sites will be full of workers from the sub-continent earning peanuts. This is totally wrong and not what the world cup should be about. Qatar Airways will be delighted and although the world cup is only one month in 2022, the profile of Qatar has, in the space of a few hours, now risen exponentially. I'm sure that was the idea all along. |
Phrase's that will require learning.

12 Years from now is a long time.... just enjoy the ride!!!!!!!
Im sure we all have other worries! |
Why would FIFA worry about the slave labor SB and 10 of his cronies (11 votes from round 1) just set up their retirement fund.
|
Stating the obvious.
:D
Yes, this is very good news for Qatar. It has little to to do with the promotion of football or the enhancement of international relations with Qatar. If Qatar realy believes that it can be the host of a free and international World Cup in 2022 then Qatar should start, at the earliest opportunity, to do away with the draconian control of immigration and more importantly emmigration that exist at the moment. The world's media will descend on Qatar in the build up to 2022. If the civil rights of the immigrant workforce are as bad then as they are now then the huge media coverage of the World Cup may not be as beneficial as is presently imagined. Let us hope that the leadership, having achieved this result by whatever means, are able to convert this award into a huge demonstration of the ability of an arab nation to act in a civilised way. |
deserthawk9: I totally agree with your last post. Altough I'm not living in the Middle East right now, I understand what you mean!
I guess it's just a question of time for things to get smoother in the Gulf. |
Call it like it is: Qatar bought the vote. I'm not bitter, that's the only explanation.
So, as I read there will be stadiums in "multiple cities" errrrr...multiple cities? OK, Doha is a glorified strip mall with a single pub at the Marriott Hotel. What are these other cities? Is FIFA counting Akbar's camel ranch 5 km outside Doha as one of these "cities". Perhaps the pack of 30 Filipino lounge singers living in a 25 sq. meter flat on the outskirts of Doha is another "city"? WTF? So what do people do on their "holiday time" while waiting to watch their team play their next match?....Hang out and watch the locals drag race their super-kitsch hot-rod cars up and down the highway? Go for a stroll up and down the air conditioned mall a thousand times? Go on a guided tour of.....sand? Wow, god bless Qatar because they must have seriously already spent a fortune on bribery fees. |
Uncle Wiggily: Don't you think Qatar will be different 12 years from now?
|
flyzede: I'm sure there is always room for a few more TGI Fridays.
In all seriousness, the media should keep tabs on the labour force used to construct these new cities. It is barbaric how the overlords of these nations manage the Bangladeshi, Filipino and Indian migrant workers....just look at Dubai. |
Agree, thanks to oil and gas, otherwise forget it , the must have paid lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to get it , $$$$$ can't change mentality and attitude:ugh:
