Iraqi Airways/Iraqi civil aviation authority!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello everybody !
Anybody knows about how the Iraqi Airways operate their bussnies?
What about the ICAA?
What about CEO Kefah Hassen?
I have heard the CEO has education of only CPL/IR license with high school certificate?
Please express your opinion about IAW?
I have also heard that one of the pilot in the company have landed on the taxi-way, Another pilot landed the airplane 100 feet before the threshold in Irabil!

Is the flight operation department really exist in the company?

I also have heard all the good pilots have left the company?

You are Very accurate and completely Right about Kifah, he has only CPL + IR and he flew there somewhere around 100 hours ONLY, then he was out of the airline, BUT now he is running the show because of his connection with somebody who has some Black thing over his head (if you know what I mean), he is running iraqi airways to the ground, his Pucket is full though due his private commission from every flight.
All the good pilots has left the airlines, all of the remaining are juniors and he is one of them, but there is some few good pilots are still there.
Good luck,

Well......in regards to the CEO it may be correct ..don't know much about him! but like anything else in Iraq everything is pretty much currupt. In regards to 737-200 landing on taxiway...not sure about that.. since Iraqi Airways don't fly any -200s anymore ...the -200s flying in Iraq
these days are being flown by Iraqi private co. "Alnasar" who could be
flying for IA as they did in the past...and have no relationship to IA ...and their pilots are Brits....with big salaries!! Didn't hear anything about
ORER incident. To fly for IA you need to be Iraqian citizen from what I hear....no expats yet!!! I do agree most of their experienced guys are
flying for the majors around the world with big contingency at Qatar. I
hope this help! Iraq is not for light hearted people with little
experience....good luck anyways.

in the brownies :)

Speedbrake, I was at Baghdad Apt a few weeks ago and saw one of their 732's operating. I also saw one of their 200's parked at Marka Airport in Amman, so they are still flying. Alnaser's 2 aircraft were also parked at Baghdad, but they don't seem to operate too much.

EladElab,

IA used to have one 737-200 operational (as far as few months ago) maybe, this A/C is either on check in Jordan as we speak or been stopped...am not sure....it dosen't exist in BAG ...your info. is off! Now a days most of IA flights are contracted to 737-300/400 operators with only the RJs owned by them operateing for IA. In addition Marka airport is an airport full of X-IA A/Cs from the old days none are operational and they will never be. They have been there since the 90s. Alnasar A/Cs fly for KBR...so they do fly internal & to Kewait..........I hope this helps :)

Thank you Sir for your post,
I visited Iraq and I have seen how corrupt the CEO Kifah is!
Most of the staff over there is completely stripped of professionalism and found to be weak personality "jealous" and unable to handle their ego,

I was really motivated to contribute in building up the company and subsequently the country but I was shocked in the big corruption in all over the place,

Now I have realized that Iraq is not a place to build my career,I'm happy to consider the Flight Instructor job in US...

Yes, They still operate 732 regardless the safety restrictions,
Jordan Aviation is another corrupted company work in conjunction with CEO Kifah Hassen, Life is good for those companies since ICAA Manger and CEO Kifah still receiving bribes.

I wounder how those people can't be stopped from jeopardizing people life!!!
