EK to Tokyo in March?
Just read in 7 Days that EK is planing on starting Tokyo this coming March. Anyone have more info on this? Aircraft type, etc (probably be 777 is my guess).

Oh wonderful. another 9hr+ sector at night with two pilots.
Why? bacause they can. w@nkers |
Both Ngo (previously) and Kix have always operated with 3 pilots and I doubt this one will be any different.

Puff look on the bright side: after your 9hr night flight you'll get to enjoy the best hotel at the airport.
Well maybe the second best. Cost control you know. There's a sushi machine down the hall. And only an hour by train to Tokyo!! |
There's a sushi machine down the hall. However, plenty of pubs in Narita to wet your thurst, provided of course that you have time enough to partake thereof. |
Agree with 411A.
Why on earth would you want to be anywhere other than an airport hotel when in Narita? Tokyo = a seething mass of humanity. Narita = typical Japanese town. Quaint, yet full of popular bars & restaurants. As for Sushi, couldn't think of a better place to eat it. That is unless you diet is restricted to yet another boring schweinhaxe. |
As the sort who enjoys T'ingIUTA, you'd likely be more interested in purchasing lunch from one of those used-knickers dispensing machines the japanese love?
:D |
I love then too, you can boil them up and make soup.....
|
Make sure you cut the label out first, gets nasty when it's stuck in your teeth

Plebians
Tokyo is one of the world's most fascinating cities. Granted, Narita is "nice", but anyone with brains and observation must love Tokyo. Even 411A.

Quite a few years ago (1992) - aboard a BA 747-400 LHR to Tokyo. Talking to the CSD about Japan, whilst trying (badly) to use chopsticks for the first time. "You need a fork and spoon", he said. Right. I purloined a BA set. Best thing I did. Japan was (is) fantastic, even better with a BA fork & spoon !!!! I still have them.
Flew United Narita to Hong Kong, frightening / brilliant landing at Kai Tak. Then BA (028) back home. 15 hours of pitch black boredom. Fantastic days. Flying Lid |
Even 411A. |
we do 15+ block hours with three man crew.
