EK crew allowances

Anybody know where we can find the "Per diem Manual"? I have never even heard of this document. Had a look on the portal but couldn't find it.

Just read the FCI but not sure what to think about it. Have a gut feeling this will not be in our benefit...surprise...surprise

Keep recovering!!!

Tthough at first glance it would not seem to apply to the standard o/n, the magic phrase is "where there is no arrangement for Emirates to be billed for the hotel and/or issue allowances".

Stand by for more Lagos/HKG deals, where the crew must eat at the hotel rather than receive allowances he/she can spend as, when and where he/she chooses.

On the Flight Ops Integrated Portal, scroll down to Citrix Access.
Once inside, choose Old Group World. Go to Travel, scroll down to Duty Travel and, voila, Perdiem Manual.

ITS easy brothers -just bid to stay away from these places....you are all smarter than this!
And what? All the "dumb" pilots are going to do LOS/HKG?

helen-damnation 17th May 2009 19:37

Possible bad rumour about HKG.

If you look on FOIP, the allowance is listed for the pax crew. The only variation is something about cargo claiming one breakfast. Not sure what the cargo deal is otherwise.

Thanks Thylakoid, found it.

Pretty much the same as the FOM. It also has the complete list of the destinations with all the allowances (or not if there aren't any).

Wiley 18th May 2009 15:33

Please.. no one tell the boiled nickers story!

GBB 18th May 2009 15:48

I can live with (some places) "no cash" deals, but...
I dont want to be told what time I can eat and where I can eat. (as far as I know room service is not included) :ugh:
...and what I can drink, as NO alcohol policy is in place with such deals! :yuk:

what_goes_up 18th May 2009 16:01

The other hotel in LOS (Protea, or so...) has 24 hrs Room Service you can use. Order any 3 course meal from the menue which you do not have to pay for.

BYMONEK 18th May 2009 16:39

Sheraton also includes room service with the all inclusive deal. I used it last week and it worked fine. The overnight allowance also covers a couple of those large local beers so all in all, no complaints...............really.........:hmm:

goatherd 20th May 2009 10:57

According to Ed Fleet/Ops had nothing to do with what's going on in Lagos. It's a different department that sorts out the contracts with hotels. They are against it and as soon as the current contract expires in a few months it will be back to "normal" allowances. Insh Allah.

ruserious 20th May 2009 17:44

I have it on good authority this was one of Kev's cunning stunts

jacquelinee 20th May 2009 18:17

How much do you get in meal allowance for LOS?

At BA we (CC) get around £160 for a three day trip (one night in LOS).

mini cooper 20th May 2009 18:35

Approx $140 I think, you'll probably get told exactly to the cent about 2 nano seconds after I post this!!! But of course now a big ZERO

williewalsh 20th May 2009 18:44

Very brief threaddrift if I may
But Jaqueilinee,
160 quid for a couple of scrans.
That is why you are about one meeting from going out of business. The golden boys at BA would rather bring the company down than give up a red cent. I do not jest. You arevery close to penury as an institution.
They dont care, spoon fed since cadet days ,commanders on 744 at 30 and on 150g a year at 40. They would rather the company fail than give a millimetre because Ba has been so dashed rotten to them since they left grammer school got married three times and molly coddled them since the first sortie.

Bring back the allowance!

We used to get $155 u.s. in allowance for the Lagos layover, now we get enough to just sqweak out a couple of "Star" local beers - but the food is free in any of the rest's including room service. Where I think this new deal is crap is that on the second day you only get breakfast and lunch. We leave the Sheraton at 6:30pm and do not depart LOS until 8:50pm. By the time the cc have time to bring up a dinner its 10 o'clock pm and im starving like hell !! EK is going to have to put on a dinner the second day(but of course that will end up costing way more than the original $155 in allowance). So, its ASR time - I cant wait so long to eat dinner, and I hate to fly hungry (might impair my judgement, safety & all). So please change the damn system back to giving us the allowance to purchase our own meals, sundries etc.. We are big guys & gals, and can stretch it out to make sure we are all well watered and well fed !!!!:ok:

helen-damnation 21st May 2009 04:16

thehulk

From this months CD (sorry BYMONEK)

Crews will be eligible for allowances if
they are on station at any time during the
meal periods listed below. “On Station”
is defined as that period occurring
between BLOCK ON and BLOCK OFF.
Dinner 1930-2130

and

Physical Condition
Air Crew must commence flight duty in
good physical and mental condition, so
that the tiredness which will accumulate
during the assigned duty period will not
affect the safety of the flight.

Therefore, you're entitled to dinner. If there's a problem, get the paperwork/phone calls going. If you hit them where it hurts, they'll change something PDQ
