EK vs. Airbus?
 
Found an article after seeing Bloombergs ticker state that Airbus is "Intensively" addressing "Problems" with Emirates A380s.

The 380 isn't nicknamed the 180 without reason. There are some heavy allegations in this article though. We'll have to wait and see the German article on Monday. Maybe an interesting drama.

The Australian article infers that it's an EK financing problem just as much as technical difficulties with the planes, so if that's the case should have no problem delaying or cancelling the other 50 and the 17-18 Boeings as well.

So Instead of EK admitting they have no Money to PAy for the BIG BUS ORDER,they are trying to delay them by blaming airbus!!!

Isnt it always like this when you have delivery of a new design ??Things are expected to crop up after the deliveries start.

When will EK admit that 54 buses 380 was too much for anyone to handle.!

If EK cancel due to lack of money they have to pay penalties - if they cancel due to the 380 being an overweight, unreliable heap it's free..:ok:

Having operated into DXB in the last few days, can anyone explain to me how Emirates (and Etihad, Qatar and Gulf Air) plan to expand to the level they have indicated over the next few years given the airspace limitations in the Gulf area? It's fine building a new airport, but a hub-and-spoke operation with concentrated arrivals and departures may well overwhelm the ATC environment?

If you were to read the EK hype over the last few years, apparently, by the utilization of more hype!:rolleyes:

The bigger question back then was how exactly they were going to fill all those planes as they connected every inhabited continent via DXB.

White knight probaly when Ek defaults on its payament Qatar will take them. Besides all the bull youi take about Qr we are the only airline with an open ckeck book

Hate to say I was not impressed with 'J' on the A380. Seat is far too narrow (even compared to Emirates 'J' on the newer B777 & A340/500) Try again, please!

Fubaliera - why woud ek default on payments?? ek is making nice tidy profits every week, which I suspect is more that goat are doing, although as you say why bother making profits if you don't really need to?
And all the bull I talk about qr, well you guys are just too sensitive.............

Yeash Ek is making so much profit that Abu Dhabi Had to bail them out. Maybe Qatar will bail them out next time.

I flew back on the 380 a few days back and must say i thought it was fabulous. Very quiet cabin, far less fatiguing than the roar on the 777. The F class suite was as standard, and the little bar at the front was very nice, especially the Paradis "hic"
The bar at the back of business was very busy and obviously popular.

Just to clear up a lot of ilinformed opinion over the last few months. This from todays Gulf News. It will probably disappoint a lot of people here who will have to move on to another rumour.


Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has denied rumours that the Abu Dhabi government is seeking to acquire companies owned by the Dubai government and said there are misinterpretations about the relations between the emirates.

On rumours that the Abu Dhabi government is seeking to acquire many companies owned by the Dubai government, Shaikh Khalifa said there are wrong interpretations about the nature of relations between emirates of the Federation.

kit330 - EK does in fact operate independently of the Dubai gov't and in fact most years pays a lot of cash to the gov't - unlike both QR and EY which are gov't backed and therefore survive on oil money. It's not so hard to figure out:oh:
Whatever illusions you may have about EK they do have an excellent commercial department and are still making a hell of a lot of $$$$$, just not the target profit that was announced last April... If you think it's all 'smoke and mirrors' you're doing PWC a big disservice...
