BA back in Saudi
In today's Saudi papers it says BA will be back in Saudi from 29th March flying 5 times a week to Riyadh and Jeddah with 777 and 767 respectively.
Welcome news. |
Welcome news for some maybe, but not for bmi!!

Is there enough traffic for the 3 of them?

No, but many Saudis I know like the First/Club class on BA.
From Jeddah, BMI have really ruled themselves out of serious contention by going via Riyadh. |

I believe it is a permanent move, in future all flights will go from London to Riyadh and then on to Dammam or Jeddah depending on day of week. I'm not aware of any plans to drop the Riyadh stop again after Easter.
There is an increasing amount of business related traffic coming into Jeddah as well, plenty of expats, virtually all the compounds are full to capacity. |
I also don't think they have the metal for dedicated non-stops. I think they still only have the 3 X 330's.
I think they may be wet leasing equipment for the routes. |
I picked Dublin as its not served directly.

Mutt,
I assume that these are Y tickets BA couldn't give a toss about the economy pax. And in times they seem to go out of their way to show their distaste. They are there to serve their bread and butter First and Business . |
