EK Recruitment

Does anyone have any idea when EK recruitment will start again. I have heard that it is mainly due to the Boeing strike? How many airframes have been delayed due to the strike and how many were EK due to take delivery of in 2009?

heard through the grapevine that they wont be interviewing again until early next year. They currently have a couple of courses left this year and then another course i heard in january. Rumour is they have around 150 pilots in the pool as well.

main problem is the strike as they were supposed to get 5 hulls before the end of this year an d then another 25 777's over the next 12-18 months.

Saw today that the boeing strike could be over so hopefully Ek starts the interviewing soon..

100(50 crew) over staffed on the 777 , just a bit over on the AB. My guess is nothing until the newyear with courses fiscal 09(APR)

Cheers for the info!

The machinist vote on Saturday. If the contract passes, they expect to return to work immediately.

Have they started interviewing already? I saw a few guys around HQ today that looked like they were being interviewed. Suits and name tags on and I'm pretty sure they were pilots.

maybe for FlyDubai?

100 in the pool at the mom. HR have requested a January re-start of selection process in anticipation of 2009 growth.

As an aside: hot off the presses all excess T7 crews on reserve may be assigned A380 shower(capt's) and potty (FO's) cleaning duties! however unlike cabin attendants no room sharing at destination mandated - (however volunteers accomodated on a case by case basis).

Ok , tell me that I interpreted that wrong. Flight Crew cleaning Lavs and Flight attendents have to share rooms on overnights? What exactly was that post about?

Orangewing 4th Nov 2008 12:43

I think it is what is known as humour.......:ugh:

sunking 4th Nov 2008 14:30

That wasn't funny.

BigGeordie 4th Nov 2008 15:45

It was if you work for Emirates.:hmm:

fliion 4th Nov 2008 16:21

My Dear Chap,

It was humour - but to clarify - the inflight ladies responsible for cleaning and maintaining the 'spa' on the A380 are called 'cabin assistants'. The original crew were actually cabin attendants who have their own room (though sharing is caring - and our girls care a lot).

Now that the dedicated 'cabin assistants' are online - they are the only members of the crew who share - officially that is.

Keep discovering ;>

(Sigh of heavy relief), I thought I was going to have to pull my EK app.:\
