9.3k is correct but u did not add the MVC as for many years it is as good as fixed.so the correct basic should be 10k.As for nightstop allowance ( layover in Ek terms ) , we get at least double or triple those Ek boys get.Ek get less than USD 100 for 24 hour nightstop. but anyway, money and cash is one thing,if u look at the other thread,Ek layover hours is as good as "only" enough to sleep in the hotel room.no time for sightseeing.in SIA,long haul flights minimun is 48 hours and ULR is min 72 hours. as far as i know,IAH,JFK,LAX is all going to be 24 hours and minus those transport and etc, barely even 20 hours. So you are killing your health which end up paying your medical in the future.and not forgetting the crazy inflation in dubai.also we only fly "only " to excellent destination with excellent airport and not some crap places.

Life Vest 30th Apr 2008 05:22

Waiting waiting waiting, I've just headed away on vacation and need to know how much the Profit Share, no make that, Bonus is going to be. Don't want to blow it all on the first day.
What time does it normally get announced, (DXB time)?

Wiley 30th Apr 2008 05:36

Sooooo... any last minutes bets? I saw a very senior VP last night, who assured me, with a straight face, that it would be 12 weeks. Personally, I think he was dreamin', but would love him to be right.

I'd be very (pleasantly!) surprised to see anything more than six weeks.

airbus757 30th Apr 2008 05:47

I say 10-12 weeks.
with 20-23% pay increase
and the other oven-mit.

Saltaire 30th Apr 2008 06:43

Last minute line on a lower 8 weeks,

3 plus 7% and large increase on the flight pay, about 50%. You work you make, you don't, tough luck. It's all about productivity folks.

jumbo1 30th Apr 2008 06:52

Inflation is "only 11%" or less according to EK so dream on if you think we will get anything more than that on basic at best. I suspect 50-100% increase in flt pay but minimal on basic. Flt pay is non pensionable and non profit shareable.
Anyway, speculation is worthless - so wait until the announcement. Then you will know what we are getting. Everyone knows a VP who says ......
Been here too long maybe - too cynical I guess. :ugh::ugh::ugh:

BigGeordie 30th Apr 2008 07:43

The SVP might be getting 12 weeks. Remember the senior management get an awful lot more than the great unwashed.

Wiley 30th Apr 2008 07:56

Touche, Gig Geordie. I didn't think of that. (If he's right, that translates into the usual 4 weeks for us, the unwashed hoi polloi, I think.)

fourgolds 30th Apr 2008 07:57

SQ seems to be the sensible move.

Dubai: Emirates airline experienced a 62 per cent rise in profit in the fiscal year of 2007/2008, the carrier reported on Wednesday.

Overall profit for Emirates Group rose 54.1 per cent, representing a Dh47 billion contribution to Dubai’s economy. This figure stands for almost a quarter of the GDP.

From the Chairmans mouth:
Chairman

Dear Colleague,

I am very pleased to announce that the Emirates Group has achieved record profits for the past financial year, 2007-08.

The group profit share target was set at Dhs3.75 billion, which we have surpassed.

You are, therefore, entitled to a bonus, equivalent to 14 weeks' pay, in your May salary.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum

Tell The Wives 4!!!!!!

BigGeordie 30th Apr 2008 10:58

I am presently surprised, I expected less than half that. However, the cynic in me wonders if this is to sweeten the blow of a less than fantastic pay rise? Hope not.

Flagg 30th Apr 2008 11:03

When is the payrise usually announced?

Sheikh Your Bootie 30th Apr 2008 11:04

Well spank me senseless, pleasantly surprised http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sp...lie/gossip.gif

Just need a decent payrise Habibs, to keep us fed and watered the rest of the year. I hope the Sheikh will grant us a decnt one, inshallah!

SyB

330 Man 30th Apr 2008 11:31

The pay review is usually announced in the first week of May. There was one year though, that it was not until the 16th or so. That was too late for the May paycheck, so it was on the June paycheck, retroactive for May.

Regards,

330 man

bobsback 30th Apr 2008 11:35

I'm glad I'm here

“As we plan for the next decade, our biggest challenges will be to find more pilots, engineers, cabin crew and skilled staff across our various business units. Fortunately, Emirates has thus far been a strong employer brand, with more than three million unique visitors browsing job opportunities on our online recruitment website last year, from which we received over 288,000 applications for positions within the Group. Being based in Dubai also has its advantages as the city itself is already preparing to welcome 15 million visitors by 2010 and there is massive investment in infrastructure to serve and attract the increasing number of expatriates.”

Looks like they have an idea about the need to pay to get the right people too!

What month do we get our 3% increment?:O

GMDS 30th Apr 2008 11:43

Well, this looks good. Thanks to EK, it's the right track, as it looks like a "profit share" and not only a bonus. :D

Wizofoz 30th Apr 2008 12:18

No you owe the company 14 weeks...........
Sorry Rambo, thought you were just a pessimist. Now I understand you are a stirrer and a troll. Do us a favour and **** OFT!!

menard 30th Apr 2008 12:26

It's great, hope the pay review will be in the same direction.

It however doesn't make the other irritants (rosters, vacations, inflation, traffic, etc.) disappear...

I will enjoy today, and wake up to reality again tomorrow...

It was well needed....

Scooter Rassmussin 30th Apr 2008 13:27

Dear Wiz ,
I think Rambo is right you will pay by losing 14 weeks of your longivity for the appaling working conditions you guys have .
You never get anything for nothing especially in the ME.

waldorfin 30th Apr 2008 13:34

Oh GO AWAY you "profits" of doom and gloom. Just for a day anyway.

alwayzinit 30th Apr 2008 13:58
