Emirate's sim ride
 

Hi Folks,
I'm going to Emirate's interview at the end of April. I have 6000TT, 1000PIC jet and the heaviest thing I've flown is a CRJ900.
The sim ride worries me a little, (never flown a heavy).
Can anybody tell me if I should get my hands on a 777 sim or an A300?
And can I choose which sim I do the ride on? it seems to me that the most similar ride to the CRJ900 would be the 777, it's got a yoke and it's all glass but still I don't want to ball it up on the first take off.
I went to a job fair in SFO and they said not to worry about it, can anyone tell me more?

They will put you in whatever sim is available that day. If it is a 777 you will find it is much like the CRJ. You will get a good brief before you fly it and have a helpful fo in the right seat. They are looking at crm and management as well as basic skills.
Don't wory too much about it, just treat it like a normal flight and stay in control. Good luck!

Not to worry; if you know the difference between an Airbus and a Boeing, and if you can takeoff and land the sim without crashing, you're in.

Would anyone of you have some good advices for me considering the crj 900? I've got a simcheck for Lufthansa Cityline on a crj 900 without having flewn any jet before ...

I wasn't aware LH had Middle Eastern bases.......

Lufthansa CityLine does not, but I'm pretty sure LH do. At least they have a cargo division in the UAE.

And not to be picky or anything, but if you're considering to join the company, you better learn there is no apostrophe in the name. It's spelled Emirates, not Emirate's .

Good luck on your interview, and like the guys above me said, if you know the basics of flying a jet, which I'm sure you do, the short brief before the sim ride will be more than enough for you to do a good job.

The EK sim guys are looking for trainablity as well as acceptable CRM, SA and management skills. They don't expect you to necessarily know anything about the 777 or 310, in fact, it's much better if you use your own SOP's & calls etc, it's not a 777/310 test, it's a generic airline pilots skills test.

@John59: You're in the wrong place, this is the Middle East Forum its far too hot for a plane built in Canada to be flying around these parts. Check the Lufthansa thread, or find some CRJ pilots to ask. Ask in the Canadian Forum, there's probably plenty of CRJ drivers there, I don't know of a single CRJ in the Middle East.
