United Aviation

Seen a few advertisements about United Aviation claiming their website address to be www.united-aviation.net. Unfortunately that website is still under construction. Not a very impressive image to advertise.

Any ideas of the Aircrafts and Operations of this Kuwait based airline. ( figured from their telephone code of +965).

They seem to give 3 months on / 1 month off roster and fly to Dubai, Moscow, London, Singapore, Paris, New York , Vancouver and many more destinations.

Any insight is appreciated.

Mav.

United Aviation

The United Aviation I know is a Syrian broker who renders services, such as adhoc diplomatic clearances for difficult places to paying customers, including major airlines. They have reputation for being efficient, reside in a nice building at DXB airport, and otherwise subcharter a lot of Russian freighters. That United are intending to commit aviation themselves is news to me.

about united aviation

Yes, this company based in kuwait has everything to be a very atractive company but in reality she is not.
The roster is suposed to be 3/1 but , regardless of the terms of the contract, the managment change the shedule and sometimes you stay blocked in kuwait for 4 or 5 month. However, if you decide to stay ( by yourself or by order of the managment) you'll be suposed to be recive double salary, this is not true.
Another trick; if you join the company allready type rated you're suposed to recive a bonus of 10 000$, this is not true.
Same for the insurance in case of hospitalisation.
Oh yes, another trick; if you join the company allready type rated the managment force you to sign a letter of consent to reimburse the training:}!!! during 3 years!
if you want to leave before you "need" to pay 30 000$:ooh:
The salary is 2600 KD for f/o and 3000 KD for capt
Generaly the pilots stay 6 month maximum because they are slaved, many times you T/O very overload ( if you refuse you gona get big trubles) and many times explose the duty times; without bonus for shure.
No conection possible btw the pilot's staff and the head office, the chief pilot is useless and very non professional and very hell of human contact.
This is a place to make " some" experience but don't espect to stay more than 6 month

Real deal

All the above for the most part is truth. The company operates under a FAA part 29, which more or less means they operate in the gray area between the FAA and the hosts country's DGCA; in this case Kuwait. United Aviation was owned by KIPCO a large Q8 conglomorate and sold to Tatweer Infrastructure a Qatar development firm and is micro managed by a young CEO with absolutely no experience other than he has the Microsoft Legacy flight Sim on his computer. Since then things have been in a rapid decent, which is most unfortunate since as already been stated that the company has a monopoly with the exclusive rights to the only Charter AOC for the state. I believe this is due to end sometime around March of 09. They are also being kept out of the new executive terminal which is owned by KIPCO; due to the mismanagement of the company. Many good pilots and managers have come and gone. You are senior if you can make it thru the 6 months.

On the bright side you will have the opportunity to fly and visit some exotic destinations that one would never fly to. Although these seem to be few and far between as many of the better customers they had only use them when they cannot find better operators. The pay is not bad and they do pay on time. Not to bad a gig if you have a high pain tolerance and can push the operational limits of the Legacy. They do have a high standard and will pretty much only hire high time jet and Legacy operator. Has the potential for greatness if they could only get their act together.

thank you for the information ,what about up grade with them.

jimmyg 4th Jul 2008 13:40

They may tell you that they will upgrade you but never will. There was even a case where one fellow was hired as a Captain and unfortunately came over based on a verbal agreement got to Kuwait and they told him never mind we raised our mins. (now they say 5000 jet) and you only qualify as a F/O. Case in point; never I say never make a move without a signed contract. Also make sure in the contract that they will provide you with you Civil ID before you start flying. One cannot do anything hear without your residency permit. Long story this is how they will attempt to keep you on a short leash. There are to many pitfalls to speak of here. If you are serious look at it as a means to an end. A good introduction to the ME, spent you 6 to 8 month and pay off some bills then move on to better horizons. If you are typed do not sign a bond agreement. Keeping you current on type is a cost of their business not yours!

And two months later... any changes? Are you still flying with UA, jimmyg? Any changes for the better or worse?

Thanks,

Chas

Here is some info about united aviation

Dear Guys I'm Dr.Sherif.Actually United aviation is a private lemo service Company based in Kuwait near the airport..I am the one who invented the painiting scheme and colors of their fleet...
Their fleet consists of Embraer Legacy with US Registration but going to be kuwaiti registered soon..
They will also add the Emb170 soon in their fleet..
As I am not a pilot I have no idea about their advantages for pilot..but it goes without saying that they are still developing their service but I guess their work is promising.
I treated there with a syrian and another American pilot.
Their inflight service is quite good and shows privacy.

MSN 14500989 – N135SK
MSN 14500706 – N135SG

We will tangibly express our appreciation to you if your information leads to the successful locating of any of these aircraft.

LGW Vulture 7th Nov 2016 17:49

I can tell you that N135SG has been parked in Dusseldorf for some three years or more - looking very sad!

jimmyg 8th Nov 2016 11:42
