Etihad layover hotels
 

I see that the EY roadshow in Singapore is being held at the Novotel. I assume that this is the crew hotel in SIN. Not the best hotel on the island by a long way! Is this typical of the standard of hotel for layovers or is it better elswhere?

Its a nice hotel and from what i heard from the crew they seem to like it and it gives them great benefits...most of our hotels are good 5 start ones but we do have a few that need changing but generally has improved a lot in the last 2 years or so...

sorry but i dont know of any airline that gives its crew allowance and breakfast. Please feel free to supply me with such an airline. You can ask EK and see what they get. If breakfast is supplied then they dont get cash for that. We have about 8 destinations were breakfast is included. Yes i agree they should increase the money we get as the Dirham has gone down about 20%. As for some of the hotels you mentioned, we share a lot of them with other major airlines such as London and Manchester. Also if you had been around long enough to remember were we use to stay you would see that we have improved, Or are SYD, KL, CGK, AMM, MXP, MUN and some other hotels also not up to your standard. I think those working on the hotels have done a good job but if you think cause one pilot is on the commitee then he would get an open cheque then you must be dreaming. What can they do if they have a limit to follow. There is only so much they can do...again lets hope it continues on the path we are now and even get better.

hey, true not the best of hotels in singapore but its good. I have only been to a couple of the destinations but overall i would say the hotels are good but there are some that need changing for sure.

JFK, or should I say, middle of nowhere in Long Island
CDG, between 2 runways, 1 Taxiway and 2 highways
GVA, airport location, with a 2 stars standards
FRA, airport
LHR, airport and low standard, we were kicked out of the other one, because EY didn't care to pay and renew the contract
YYZ, location is fine , but 2 stars standard
SIN, location is a bit remote, but nothing is really remote in SIN (...) and standard is low compared to SIN average
MAN, airport
CMN, the worst of the possible ones


BRU, DUB, DAC, SYD, BNE, KUL, CGK, BKK, MNL, MXP, MUC are fine.

I don't mention BOM and DEL as we stay only 4 and 2 hours respectively

Next. Beijing, let's see....

i am in the business for quite long and i do confirm what algazal wrote; most of them are 2 stars hotels located at the airport with few exceptions. Most airlines give you breakfast and when not they give you 3 time what etihad considers a food allowance; :ugh:

when you speak to outstation managers (who knows their business) they can find much better location, hotel, including breakfast and stay in the budget; but ey refuse because they have their ego or bribes to satisfy :*

We disagree on many thing Al Ghazal but your hotel rating is pretty close to what I think.

Why an airline that claims to be best airline in the world is so mean to put its crew in cheap hotels with peanuts allowances.. :uhoh:

I stayed in the same hotel as Etihad Crew in Singapore - I totally disagree with the comments. Location, staff and rooms were all wonderful !!!

Sometimes people just dont know what they are talking about.

Well, to me you are at work, not on vacations. What you need is a bed and a bathroom. The rest (including food) is what you would have to pay anyway (you would know what it mean if being unemployed one day).

I am really confused each time I see expats nothaving any pb in reducing the comfort to the minimum when they have to pay 9in order to bring back as much as they can) and being so much demanding when they are not supposed to pay.

It's fifteen years i'm flying, and i still have some passion. It's definitely not the hotel rating that would come to my mind when choosing to apply for a job...

Make no mistake, i'm not aggressive, it's just i'm not over 50 yet...:}

Gf's crew hotels offer free breakfasts and internet. Also, there is a pilot and flight attendant representation that is involved in selecting suitable hotels.

i wonder who is interested to join the airlines in middele east, especially from singapore now. which airlines gives 6 months bonus now? and this year they expect 7.5 , and plus 13 month, that makes 8.5 months. which airline gives tt bonus in middle east? and tax is low as compared in any other parts of the world. yes, cervesa is expensive, but dining is still relatively cheaper than in europe/america and burj dubai. and tip is an option, not a must,unless u want to take the cute singapore girl back to your room.
overall i dont see any one coming, thus makes the roadshow a failure and a waste of time.

or was it the recruitment team needs an R-n-R ?

EY gave one weeks bonus. no 13th month!!

Well I know in SYD EY uses the Four Seasons..now that's an awsome hotel standard for any airline crew layovers! Deluxe 5 star to say the least and location...second to none!
