Air arabia - Unrated A320 pilot
Hi Guys
First time on the forum. Need some Air Arabia info. I have 1600 TT. 400 Jet time on Citation III. 500 Multi Time. Lots of Middle East experience both as a pilot and dispatcher. No A320 rating. Do i stand a chance to get into Air Arabia. If the airline pays for my rating i am prepared to pay them back in monthly installments or sign a bond. Any advice..... |
30R,
If ABY trains you under the Ab-Initio program, you'll be bonded with the company for 5 years and just like you are prepared to do...you pay for your A320 type on a monthly basis. The Ab-Initio program caters only to UAE/GCC nationals, it is rare for expats to be invited for an interview. Internal candidates in other job positions, however, have been inducted into the program after they passed the screening process. I suggest you fill out the online app.(website), upload your CV and send it. Plan to call them (HR) after 2 weeks for a follow up. Be sure to tell them you are locally available. ax. |
Non Type Rated
For a start, its known as 'non-type rated' & not 'untyperated.'
|
wait one minute
If you are bonded to the company why would you need to pay for a TR?
|
inverter,
shouldn't it be non-rated or not rated on type?? Ejet, ok...you're probably right, you're not 'bonded', you just pay back every month. The pay-back period is 5 years. So, unless you've got a 100 grand or so (AED) stashed somewhere, you're not going anywhere until you clear the bill. Sounds like a bond made in heaven!! ax |
Not rated on type
Thanks for the info AX. I understand that they will not get me a rating unless i am a UAE/GCC national or internal candidate.
I am not a UAE/GCC national or an internal candidate. Then do you think they would hire me as an F/O based on my experience and bond me. |
30R,
There have been pilots hired for FO positions by ABY, based on 'other' jet experience. After they complete their 320 initial, I think the requirement is to fly ~45 sectors(under supervision) + line check, before they are let loose. All I can say is APPLY. It's worth a shot. Apply through the normal channels and then follow it up with a phone call. HR takes note if you reside locally, so mention it. Good Luck. Ax |
A320 type rating cost
Hi AX
Can you make any recommendations as to where would to for the A320 type rating course. Also how much would it cost. Regards |
"Sounds like a bond made in heaven!!"
Thoes are 3-5 years with same pay, and no pay for a TR directly from your pocket. |
30R,
I am familiar with Pan Am in Miami, Fl. I got my B737 type with them. Their A320 type runs for apprx $15,000...that was in early 2006. There is also another training center nearby Pan Am, can't remember the name but it was down the road. You could google it and sure to find some reasonable deals. Wherever you go, just make sure the training follows the JAR-ops standards. This will be more recognized, here, than FAA. Ax |
A320
axialflow is right,
however try www.bondaviationservices.com www.premair.com www.simcorpflighttraining.com www.simcenter.cc www.fti737.com for your FAA A320 type rating.I hope i helped. good luck |
Dear 30R,
As far as I know, the GCC-UAE ab-initio program is for cadets without flying experience, CPL or ATPL. With your total/jet hours and CPL/ATPL, you will not be put in the same channel as ab-initio. All you'll need is an A320 conversion course. I could be wrong though, you'll only know for sure when you apply. Good Luck. |
Hi SCATANA,
The ab-initio program requires the applicant to possess a valid UAE CPL/ME. If you view the website (careers), they make it clear. ABY does not have a flight-training program for cadets...yet?? The ab-initio guys taken-in so far, have all had atleast the UAE CPL/ME or a foreign CPL, which they have had to convert (UAE airlaw exam blah blah blah). If you do go get an A320 TR and apply with zero time on type, will you be grouped with the other potential FOs with experience?? Presently, the mins for ABY FOs are 1500TT and 800 on type AND current on the 320. I wonder if you would get yourself into a mess??? As mentioned before, you'll never know until you try... Ax |
