Have a friend who started this week on the 777.
He was told that he would probably do sim in November or December, so it sounds like they are backed up pretty bad.

@Homo-ludens thanks for the info ...lets just hope they get their new airplanes with no further delays !! and lets really hope they dont find out or decide or even think that they dont need all those 250 new airplanes ?? that would be a disaster for us ...the ( swimming champions )

I'm pumping my friend for more info...said they have indicated they are done hiring for this year.(he didn't know if that meant all swimmers or new interviews) If the sims are already booked through December it may be worse case scenario.
Let's just hope another airline doesn't collapse and we go to bottom again!

I interviewed for Dec- widebody.
I believe if you were not flying as captain at time of interview they would not interview you for Captain position.
I've been in the pool since April but am now facing downgrade In Septeber at current company due to cutbacks/reductions.
Does anyone know if this will effect me?

As far as I know from some insiders, if you get a single line on your records showing a RHS, ... you are done...

Might be someone with greater authority/knowledge would clarify further...

Send them an E-Mail inquiring....to the same person who sent you the congrats letter.....

Some how I doubt it would change anything, as you more than meet/exceed the requirements for the position.....I asked them during the interview if my lack of Boeing currency would preclude a possible 777 assignment, and they said not at all....

A SFO is not a rating. You become a SFO after completing 3 years of employment if you have not upgraded.

Re SFI:
Currently the TRTO is training FOs for SFIs on the fixed base sims (both Airbus and Boeing). If you have to be an seniour FO to do it, I'm not shure, but I think not.
As for getting your SFI rating before comming here - do not bother. Although a plus in your CV, they'll give you a full training here even if you've been a full-fleged TRE in you previous life.

I try to summarize the situation in QR holding pool .

We have 3 groups:
-One who passed the assessment signed their acceptance letters, and then received an updated end of July stipulating they may expect delay in DOJ until 2013.
-Second groups, which have been successful, joined the talent pool and now expect update end of August.
-And third one same as above but expect update end of November.

Please correct me if I am wrong?
Anyone know if they made a holding pool list or it is purely randomly?

Same thought from me about the 3 groups you mentioned. Although the first group, ie those who have fleet allocation and signed agreement letter appear to have no update timeframe, unlike the other 2 groups. Not sure why as it would be nice to know when to expect some news for those in that group.

I'd like to think the talent pool would be managed on a first in, first out basis. Like BA, where you are given a number and move up the list accordingly as people leave at the top and on to courses. Though I don't have much faith that those with type ratings etc might jump ahead of those who don't!

Does anyone know what the travel benefits for your family are, once joined and you qualify? For example, I think your parents get an ID90? Is this limited to 1 per year or unlimited etc? Any thoughts appreciated.

I heard pilots who have 3000 TT will get the B777, couldanyone confirm??????

A friend of mine (experienced 737 FO) had his interview later this month cancelled...

CL65Driver, not neccesarily, at the time of joining I had 3.5k all Boeing time and didn't get offered the 777. You need wide body time more than anything - if its 3k all n 767 then yes you may have a shot.

I'm sure there are some that did get on it with less (and they will soon chime in here ;-) ) but here nothing is guaranteed.

Therefore I believe we have another group in QR.No offer letter and no talent pool just the successful email.

Same situation for me. Applied somewhere in Nov 2011. Interviewed Jan 2012. Good news in March and nothing eversince.

Totally confused and hopeless. Luckily I still have a job, but still dreaming of a position with QR.
