Are here maybe pilots who fly for Qatar which were already employee of the airline? Like the thread in the 'Wannabees' section from working as a cabin crew first before they go into the cockpit..

In my opinion the temperament of the ´Updates´get more and more negative.
The first email still gave me some hope of getting called at the end of this year.
The ´end of july´ update diminishes that hope and leaves me wondering if they will ever call me at all (or just delete the talent pool when the 1 year interview to DOJ expires...)
In the email it was stated 'We hope to invite you when operational requirements permit' Also it was not adressed to me as a person anymore, but just to 'applicant'.
Maybe I'm a pessimist but the whole e-mail was short and cold.

Besides that, what happend that recruitement came to such an abrubt stop?

Nope Interview April, congrats letter May, "waiting for appointment aproval and fleet allocation"....Poolie as of July...no worries for me, whenever they are ready....

I just wanted to share this little thing with you, i finally got the good news today.
Did my interview late June, good news and FD talent pool today and must wait for further details which will be end of August.
I am very happy for now even though i know i have to wait probably longer!

Got same email today......in holding pool...next update end of Aug..........
expecting it to be later......much later......just hope they keep me in the pool for however long it takes.

3500 hrs turbo-prop co-pilot......interviewed end of April.

Why do some get a update end of August and my letter that I received this morning says my next update is end of November?

Hey, guys, here are some numbers from the 'inside':
Pilots force as of end of 2011 - 1500 (approx).
Same as of now - 2200.
So they've made their numbers for this year. My guess is, though, this includers the people who got their offers of emploinment/fleet allocation and waiting for joining date. Ergo End-of-August update.
More numbers: people, swimming in the pool - 400.
Simple math dictates whoever is in the pool right now should join (meaning arrive in Doha) by the end of March, early April next year at the latest. That's taking into consideration also people leaving the Company meanwhile.
Bottom line - things are not so hopless as they may seem at the moment.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Must us in the holding pool now reply to this email to say that we are still interested in a job with QR?
