jacek...

I got mine just 8 days before the interview, so don't worry! They usually work very well and comply with all what they informed you about on the schedulled interview email.

Good luck

Does anybody know Qatar Airways pilots per aircraft ratio?
Because in 2012 Qatar Airways will on average receive a new aircraft every 18 days and in 2013 a new aircraft every 15 days.
I would just like to do the basic maths, how many pilot needed this year and of course what is the sucess ratio with interviews.

Licence Authority Form

I recieved my contract this morning and im unclear about one of the documents. The License Authentication Form is directed towards countrys with a CAA. The FAA does not sign documents like this. How have American pilots handled filling out this form? I was considering just getting it notarized but Im afraid Ill run into trouble with that because it asks for who the issuing authority is. A notary at a bank probably wouldnt slide.

Congrats Etravis82.
How long between good news and contract?

Cheers

Good News

Hello All. I just wanted to update and encourage those of you waiting to hear back from H.R after your interviews. I interviewed Mid-February and I just received the good news of the successful passage of the Flight Deck selection process today. I know there is no rhyme or reason as to when one will hear back from H.R but I just wanted to offer a reference point because having waited a for month myself, I know every bit of encouraging news helps.;):)

What about the FAA website, just go there and you will be able to have your authentication letter, my friend did it as he has been requested the same.

iQatar

I don't know the pilot/aircraft ratio but I was told by the flight deck selection manager himself during the PSP that they want to hire 700 pilots in 2012 only.
Hope that helps with the math.

Is it true that they recruit cadet pilot with just 200-250 hours regardless of the flight school (or flight academy:hmm:) attended?

Theres nothing you can print off an faa website. Qatar has a form that needs to be signed and stamped and according to the faa they refuse to sign any form thats not theirs. Theres gotta be a loop hole somewhere for US pilots.

Are you really too lazy to read the full mail :

Please note that some of the Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) will have their own formats or might seek that the request comes directly from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA).

Good luck reading your FCOM...

RK303 19th Mar 2012 23:00

Friendly answer gdukkoq...hopefully they won't welcome you like that at QR...all the best.

gdukkoq,

I remember you were inundating us with your frustration as to why QR has not contacted you about your status. Have you forgotten how far you have come? You, of all people, should not thumb your nose at other people who come hear looking for answers! := At the very least, show some appreciation and understanding what other people are experiencing by offering the same level of guidance you have receive yourself. If you can't do that, do us all a favor and relieve us of your arrogant nature.

@etravis82

Lots of people take the slightest chance to show arrogance when they are at ease and while they are not in the heat of the moment! They just forget how annoying and stupid their comments were early in the days!
What they don't really understand is that things go beyond the understanding of plain English! You were here to ask a valid question and to get answers from people who have been in your position one day and have had the experience!
I wish I could give you an answer..but my license is not an FAA one! However, you can communicate with your joining coordinator and let her know what difficulties your are facing in this regard. They are very helpful in such cases.

Good luck mate!:ok:

@ETravis

I emailed our POI (large regional airline) and asked for his help with a matter like this.

I drafted a letter for his sig, confirming my qualifications and position at the airline. He was happy to sign it.

Guys, were all in the same boat. Some already more advanced some not. At the end all more or less experienced aviators, with different reasons for a change.be polite and respectful and remember where"you" coming from!
Just my 50 cents

Qatar airman medical

I've heard that the medical is based off of the JAR medical. Wondering if anyone could offer any insight into the medical. In particular I'm concerned about the eye exam. If first hand info is available it would be much appreciated. Also, how often does the medical need to be renewed and why do they ask you to show up with a fresh medical. Thanks all!

gdukkoq 20th Mar 2012 05:58

my apologize the way I replied even though it was only directed to etravis82, because he received the mail like some of us.
But good luck anyway, and for those waiting hold tight, it is indeed very frustrating, I waited 4 months for the contract... hope to see u in DOH !
